When I’m walking down the street, these are the most common questions Mum gets asked:
Q: Is she a Lhasa or a Shih Tzu?
A: HE’s neither, but you’re close. He’s a
Havanese, a breed that originated from the Lhasa Apso and Bichons and Shih Tzus.
Q: Where did you get a Bichon that wasn’t white?
A: He’s not a Bichon, actually. He’s a
Havanese, a close relative of the Bichon.
Q: She’s so cute! Is his breed good with kids?
A: Yes, they’re great with kids. Be sure your kids know how to treat a dog, though. And it’s a boy.
Q: Oh! Can I pet her?
A: Sure you can pet HIM. Let HIM sniff your hand first then pet him right here (pets shoulder/chest area)
Q: Is she smart?
A: Yes, HE’S very smart. He’s won several obedience awards.
Havanese are very easy to train.
