American Kennel Club Standard

Head: Round, but not apple or domed shaped.
Stop: Very Pronounced
Eyes: Almond to Round in Shape, always black or Dark Brown. Rims should be black, though dark brown on a chocolate-self colored dog is acceptable.
Nose: Black
Mouth: 42 teeth in a scissor bite
Ears: Pendant Shaped, lop, well-feathered
Neck: Moderate Length, well-muscled
Shoulders & Topline: Strait
Forepaws: Strait, parallel to hind. Well muscled
Hindpaws: Extremely well muscles, not to be cow hocked or duck feet - Parallel
Chest: Moderately deep, not to shallow or too deep
Loin: Well arched
Tail: Well feathered held over back when in motion, can drop while standing
Height: 8.5 to 11.5 inches at the withers (shoulders)
Weight: 7 to 10 pounds
Gait: Springy and free (proving happy nature)
Temperament: Happy and gay, extremely friendly ad very sociable. Highly intelligent and easily trained.
Coat: Long, 6 to 8 inches at full, not to touch the ground. Any and all color or combination of colors.

 

Remember that this is my interpretation of the breed. If I have anything seriously wrong with it (like I have the bite wrong or something) please E-mail me. If stepped into a breed ring as a judge, that is what I would be looking for! I am not a trained judge!
