12/12/05 - hahahahah, iit only took me six months this time to do an update . . . but, I'm on myspace, so you gotta hit me up on that shit. http://www.myspace.com/selectorsam. I'm holding shit down with Task One at the Snake Pit in Denver on Saturdays. So much shit has been boiling in the lab. I can't wait to unleash the catalog. ugghhhhhh!!!!!!! Have a good holiday season. peace, Sam

6/12/05 - Yo Yo, check it out. Its been a year and a half since I updated my website. I pretty much gave up on the internet. I found that it was a time waster. In the mean time, I have actually been working on music since I haven't been putting as much time on the internet. word. So, theres an album from Mental Morphys in the works. Theres a compilation that I made some beats and Executive Produced. Damn, theres a bunch going on. Music has been good. So I'm back in the game Ill stay up on my website. Just let me know, I need contact with the world to know that its worth my time. nublu@yahoo.com is the best way. aiight, more updates comin soon. haha. peace, Sam

12/05/03 - The Red Slime Mixtape is complete. I need to redesign my site, and get a real webserver. so stay tuned. peace, and have a good holiday season.

05/05/03 - I have completed the Blue Slime Mixtape in January and have been selling them on the streets of Denver. It is the first in hopefully a long line of dope tapes. The Blue Slime is the weakest monster in Dragon Warrior and will also be my weakest tape when I have completed the 25-CD series. I am committed to improving my DJing with every tape. However, the DJing is still descent and they have been moving briskly. I have sold 50 already at school.

I have been working lately on a skratch production which will be out in about 1 month and I am working on a complete website redesign and ecommerce solution so I can sell mixtapes out of my "trunk." I don't have a car, so the internet is the next best way to distribute yo shit.

Other than that, check out www.freshsites.com for the latest happenings in Denver Hip-Hop.

12/25/02 - Show updates: I'm Djing a set at the Trilogy lounge in Boulder for the Reggae and Hip-Hop show with MCs Reason and Jordan with DJ Roots. Also DJing Hip-Hop sets are my homeboys DJ Thought (from Minezai) and DJ AliImpossible (from Ideal Idealogies).

The Compulsions have shows Jan.16 at the Lion's Lair, Jan.17 at the Oasis in Boulder, and Jan.31 at the Boiler Room in Denver.

There is no You-Night at the Soiled Dove on Monday, Jan.30.

Have a happy New Year. Peace.

12/12/02 - It turns out that my G4 power cable shorted. Thank god it wasn't something serious like a fried mother board.

Anyway, I have my last final and paper due tomorrow. Being the procrastinator that I am, I decided that now would be the perfect time for another update.

Big ups to Basementalism and 1190am for letting myself, Gunther B, and DJ Thought judge the beat battle. I was excited to hear so much talent, it was really hard to choose the winner. We were very critical and didn't know who made any of the beats when we were listening to them, so we didn't play favorites or anything like that.

I DJed an hour set for Basementalism back on September 28th. If you want to check my playlist, go for it. I played some new stuff, but mainly stuff that is 2-4 years old.

I am working on a mixtape. I keep saying that I am going to do another one, this time I mean it. I will be done with school tomorrow! So that means DJing, snowboarding, weed smoking, some drinking, beat making, and a little bit of work!

Peace in the Middle East!!!!!! Fuck War!!!!!!! No War for Oil!!!!!! Spend the money on something else like renewable energy or education and than we won't have so many dumb mother fuckers driving around in SUVs!!!!!! Peace, I'm Out!!!!!

11/27/02 - Wow, it's been fucking ages since I have updated my website. My new Apple G4 broke down, so the only time that I get on the internet is when I am at school. I'm pissed off about it because I am broke and I don't have the cash to fix it, so I'm still using the shit box to make music.

You-night at the Soiled Dove is lots of fun. Myself (Selector Sam) and Pontious Pirate performed two weeks ago for our first show, ever. We did really well, no mistakes, shit was clean with good energy. Last week was Bugaboo, one of Denver's longest running crews (if not the longest, 7 years), C1 (dope set), and Ideal Idealogies (Alimpossible is a sick, sick DJ) put on a great show. I've been DJing almost every week for it along with Chris Nathan (88.5, Eclipse) and DJ Thought (1190, Minezai). The DJ vibe is usually classic or underground hiphop. The vibe of the Soiled Dove has been great, lots of positivity, good friends, and beautiful women. word. It's great to see a hip hop night picking up with local acts.

The Compulsions have a show this Saturday in Boulder at the Oasis Brewpub. We are playing with P-Nuckle who are a Denver favorite. Tight band for sure. Come down if you are in Boulder or Denver. Just a reminder, the Oasis makes some of the best beer in Colorado, about ten thousand times better than Coors.

I've been cruisin' down to Boulder to 88.5 on Sundays, with Chris Nathan, Z-Rock, Rico, and Brandon. They have the longest running hiphop show in Colorado and it is a blessing to hear them DJ and participate (Z-Rock and Chris Nathan have been doing there thing for over 20 years). Their knowledge is deep and they share it so tune in on Sundays at 7, 88.5 FM in Boulder and some areas of Denver.

That's it, I'll probably do an update in a week or so . . .

10/08/02 - Follow this link to get tickets for The Compulsions show on Oct. 23rd at Herman's Hideaway.

10/03/02 - I haven't posted in a while because things have been really busy. The Compulsions CD is completed and will be available at The Compulsions website. Currently, the album is available at stores around Denver and Boulder.

Selector Sam and Pontious Pirate, The Beat Eaters EP is also finally completed. The SSPP album is currently being manufactured. Both those albums will be for sale soon on the internet.

Last Saturday I DJed at 1190 and than DJed at Tulagi's with The Compulsions. It was a good day. Aiight. Peace.

8/16/02 - I've been working a lot and getting ready for school so music has been on the back burner for the last two weeks. Still waiting on The Compulsions CDs. They should be here in a week . . .

There are a couple shows coming up with The Compulsions, so you should check them out. This Saturday, Aug 17th at the Bottom's Up Tavern in Aurora and Tuesday at Herman's Hideaway in Denver.

7/30/02 - I'm currently working on a mixtape called Soul Elements. Should have it done by next week. Still waiting for The Compulsions album. Me and Jason are laying down some shit this weekend and are polishing our material.

7/21/02 - The Compulsions album has been sent off to the Fabrication Dept. at Kids Burning Records. I'm really happy because this is the first LP (non-CDR pressed) that I have ever been apart of that has been professionally printed. I can't stop staring at the artwork by Lauren. I did the design work and I think that it looks descent.

I've also been updating the websites for The Compulsions and myself. I enjoy doing web design. I like to keep it simple with well working information flow. I have a 56K modem so I don't want to take forever uploading and downloading stuff. And if you have one too, you will probably appreciate it the fact that the sites are quick loading.

Anyway, I'm taking a much needed vacation. I'm leaving the country, it's about time that I did. The world is very big and complex. Traveling the US, seeing different cultures, people, landscapes is amazing, so I anticipate seeing a broader scope of the world will be even more amazing.

The Compulsions are playing: August 1st at The Cricket on the Hill, Denver. August 17th at The Bottom Up Tavern, Aurora with Curious Yellow (they are dope). August 20th at Herman's Hideaway, Denver (it is "new band" night, we go on at 9:30).

6/21/02 - It's a week later and the album is finally mastered. So the music end is done. Now the fun part, everything else.

6/14/02 - I now have 9 of 12 tracks mastered and finished, 3 to go. The night at Illegal Pete's has ended and I want to thank everyone that came out and had a good time.

I also wanted to let every one know that I invented the fifth element of hip-hop, if you don't believe me, click here.

5/30/02 - I am currently working on The Compulsions CD. I am adding turntable overdubs and mastering it. We should have it done and pressed within a month so stay posted. Email me if you want me to let you know when it is out.
