it sucks, but it's true. geocities is closing its doors later this year. :( that means i'm going to have to move! i've been with geocities since about '97. that's a long damn time. we had a good run... tonight = club wars. my buddy's band soulicit is on the bill. it should be a jolly good time... how come people don't celebrate death days? there are birthdays but not death days. that would make a great hallmark card. it would be a like a birthday except everything would be black. damn, i'm funny.

11/8/92»1.24.09 th 8:18 am cst

so i was watching monday night raw and couldn't help but notice an ad for saturday night's main event. to most other viewers i'm sure they saw it and then probably forgot all about once it was over. but for me i couldn't help but recall the time i beat up my babysitter over an episode of it in '92. i would have been 10 years old and it was me and the rest of my siblings at the time. if i remember right my parents told me not to watch it for some stupid reason but there wadn't "no stoppin' me" (like shelton benjamin) then. i snuck into the room as much as possible where the rest of my siblings were watching until i got caught by the sitter. i remember seeing the ultimate maniacs matching up with money inc., shawn michaels vs the british bulldog, and bret hart vs papa shango. (this would have been the november 8, 1992 edition for those of you keeping score.) it had to have been during the main event when i got nabbed in the act. my babysitter saw fit to physically take me out of the room, all the way downstairs, and into the the bathroom where she plopped me down on the toilet. i stood up on the toilet cover and she leaned down a little so we were eye level. i remember tears streaming down my face. there are only a handful of other times in my life that i cried harder over anything more than that. i don't remember at all what she said. all i remember was the cut i opened up just below her left eye on her stoic face from scratching and slapping her. bitch. my parents made me call her and tell i was sorry even though i really wasn't which was a load of bullshit. i credit this story as a little part of turning me into the psycho i am today...

don't question my heart»1.24.09 th 8:18 am cst

it's not good enough for me to sit idly by without doing something towards an end. i have an innate desire to be great. some people balk at that because of the way i look. all i know is that it drives me up the wall when i have nothing better to do on my time off from work than sulk around my apartment. i have to be doing something productive. most people may not understand that but wrestling provides the perfect avenue for me and my kind. i'd go so far as to say if it weren't for wrestling, odds are i'd be dead truth be told. so it's not just cool when i meet superstars like super crazy--it's the blood that runs me!

bringing big hair back»1.24.09 th 8:18 am cst

last night was soulicit we had ourselves a little bit of fun... i'm doing something i never thought i would do by growing out my hair long. it ain't hard. and i like the results so far. i want it to be ville laihiala length... a shout out to jaime and nicko who are literally and figuratively chilling out in mile high city... tonight = super crazy coming to "da playground." me and cody are going. and then tomorrow is the rumble--one of the best pay-per-views of the year... another new poem up--a short one... i order you all to get numb to it!

new year's night recap»1.5.09 m 8:11 am cst

new years ruled fools! i took in a wsu b-ball game (even though they did lose) and rock banded it out with robbo, cody, cody's *ahem* love interest (i forget her name - oh yeah, jessie), and dan and then we watched "the wrestler." i've got a review of it over on myspace... this past saturday i hung out with soulicit for both part 1 and 2 of their double header. the second part was fuckin' crazy fun. i don't know if dp would agree seeing as how he got mauled on stage during their last song! when's the last time you saw a mosh pit break out for a local band? we had one on our hands that night for "crowd is jumpin'." great to see nicko (happy b-day btw, buddy!) and jaime del norte out there, too. all sortsa fine looking bitches around the place.

new wheels, dude!»12.27.08 sa 7:15 am cst

"i now own... wcw!" - shane mcmahon. oh yeah? well, i now own a 1995 honda prelude because hondas suck the least of all car makes! owning a car is a little on the smaller scale than running the entity wcw was, but we're taking baby steps toward ruling the corporate world here ;)... xmas was fun... and i've only had to totally throw my life in reverse to get it where i want it to be--where it should be. by not acting so macho (man) at work, life's been much easier to cope with. that way i can be a lot more genuine with my real friends and not vie for the affection of people i work with who are close with me by default because we just so happen to share close quarters... new years--i'd say my favorite holiday though there have been a fair share of crappy ones--is shaping up nicely. taking in another wsu basketball game and playing guitar hero over at cody's are the plan, man. 2008 treated me way better than '07 did.

music magnetic»11.11.08 t 10:00 am cst

holy shit, there's been a lot going on! for starters i got to rock out with metallica like i wanted tho it wasn't nearly as much fun as the first time i caught them. they fucked up a lot. the cool thing is that i can lay claim to the fact that i've now seen all three surviving members of pantera live... next i got fired from one of my two jobs. fuck 'em. so far it's actually been enjoyable having more time to myself... i've been playing a lot of tna impact for the ps3 which is pretty cool and seems to get more fun the more i play it. i just unlocked kevin nash as a playable character. i haven't been into video games since super nintendo went out of style, but when i heard ps3 could double as a blu-ray player i was all over it... cody bought smackdown vs raw '09 for the x-box the day it came out. i'll probably break down and get it (just not the collector's edition). finally i'm planning a return trip tomorrow to kansas city to see ICED EARTH. should be badass.

decisions, decisions»10.21.08 t 8:00 am cst

it's metallica or bust for me this weekend in kc. no disrespect intended toward bbow who are putting on a show the same day, but i'm just not feeling it. and if i'm not feeling it, i know i can't get the fans into it either. so i'm sitting this one out. bbow shows come frequently. but who knows when metallica will be back in the area? it was a tough choice, but that was a question i couldn't answer so i i'm rolling with it.

sinusfest '08»10.03.08 t 12:23 pm cst

today is a good day. it marks day number 3 that i haven't woke up sneezing like 20 times in over a month... i've been slaving away like a dog between my 2 jobs, but i've still found a way to make time for my real friends. yeah, there are a lot of fake ones out there. i still think it has a lot to do with where i live. i want to move to texas in the next couple years, but that may not happen. it could be a lot worse... locofest 2 was a pretty fun--not as much as the first one--but fun nonetheless. the number of chicks that turned out impressed me but the average age had to be pretty low. six hours of live music with entertainment on the side for $12 ain't a bad deal though no matter how you square it. the best bands to me were gulch, blacktop bully, and torque.

new decor»09.12.08 f 8:10 am cst

to commerate 9/11 yesterday i spent some time listening to slayer's "God hates us all album." the album was released the same day as the 9/11 attacks. seriously wicked!... happy metallica day to one and all! after i get off work, it's off to get the new album i go. i've been waiting for this forever... you might have noticed the oh so subtle change in graphics. i think the change suits my personality better. the old layout may have implied that i'm a little white guy try to portray myself as someone from the streets. yeah, it took all these years for me to finally figure that out!

what can i say? i'm attracted to "death magnetic!"»09.10.08 w 10:00 am cst

i got a chance to preview the new metallica album, and all i've got to say is wow! for everyone who clowned on "st. anger" (myself included), you're in for a pleasant surprise. the best songs are "broken, beaten, and scarred," "cyanide," and "the day that never comes" in that order. can't wait to see the artwork... the new mr. perfect dvd isn't bad. i've got a full review of it on myspace.

"time marches on..."»09.04.08 th 8:00 am cst

wow, i've been busy. and there's no let up in sight... my buddy andrew tied the knot this past weekend. it was pretty cool because his band did a little rehearsal as part of the celebration after spending a ton of time in the studio. they're looking for a guitarist and i think i know just the guy to help them out. it'll be badass if it works out like i think it will... i met former wwe diva lita a few weeks back while she was on tour with her band the luchagors. for those of you fortunate enough to have me as a bud on myspace, you have exclusive access to a pic from the gig. tna came through town recently as i mentioned below, and i had a great time. i have to give a shout out to thomas and lynny in particular for coming out to the show with me. many pics from that show over on myspace, too. my work schedule has taken a 180 degree flip so that certainly makes things interesting. the best thing about it is that i have time to watch raw again. :)... a new pic is up to your right... i've got more poetry on the brain but nowhere near finished... i've heard some of the new metallica. to say it's a step up from st. anger would be the worst criticism i could think of. yeah, it's that good. well, that may or may not have made sense, but i don't really care... mr. perfect dvd is due out next week, too. hell f***in' yeah. later.

new poem: "give me the fire..." the way things are going right now, it looks like i might be getting a step daddy. i'm not even sure i care but whatever :)... i've been watching a lot of ring on honor lately. not bad. not great. in comparison to tna, i think it's better for the fans of pure wrestling. i definitely don't miss the gimmick matches overkill. still wrestling is wrestling and you just might find me at the cotillion when tna comes to "da playground." ;) i would love to meet samoa joe and perhaps low ki/senshi should they show up... i got to hang out with nick-o and the old haysville crew on saturday. it was funny because it evolved from a beer bash into a philosophical debate.

stuff that is cool»08.09.08 sa 9:18 pm cst

the new metallica album drops sept. 12 so check out! the first single--"the day that never comes"--is said to be a throw back to a sound similar to "one." i'm sold!... i saw both "the dark knight" and "hellboy 2" recently. "the dark knight" was pretty badass. the fact that heath ledger died during the making of it makes it even more intriguing. some really quotable stuff was in there, too. i think it even topped batman returns. two face was crazy. "hellboy 2" i think was highly overrated. yeah, the graphics were amazing, but the story didn't hold much water to me. it moved too quickly in the beginning and then the middle was just red and blue and getting drunk for what seemed like forever and wasn't funny. it seemed like the parts i liked the most had been done before. like when red is fighting the giant green bean creature, it died way too easily and the stuff with the baby tossing was pretty homo. the final fight scene reminded me way too much of "blade trinity." and i hated that movie even with triple h in it.

cool news and bitch time»02.25.08 m 8:10 am cst

man, march is going to a busy month. i'm in the process of getting a second job in addition to not one, not two, but three wrestling trips including refereeing on a card that is scheduled to feature former wwe/ecw superstars rodney mack and jazz... now there's something i've got to get off my chest that should be a familiar topic. i am absolutely sick of friends who i try to call on fairly regular basis, then they don't call me back, they don't hang out with me, when i finally get a hold them they act snobby like they're above me, and then when i finally see them in public they're all excited to see me. what sense does that make? if you fit that description, you can go f*** yourself. now if you're into a friends who aren't just fair weather, who go out of their way to make time for you, are willing to drive you places, and are even willing to loan you stuff as long as you return it, then look no further than me. :) unfortunately, that seems to be either asking for a lot or inviting a lot of trouble.

stuff»02.02.08 sa 7:30 am cst

i ended up going to the killswitch engage show with jimmy. all the bands leading up to them had a lot of energy, but just didn't fit the mold of my music tastes. kse themselves had much improved since i saw them years ago in lawrence. my biggest criticism is that rely too much on crowd participation for the vocals. adam was hilarious. he threatened to f*** all the lazy a**holes in the back with a tennis racket if they didn't get more involved. lol. and in an unexpected moment, howard scaled the speakers--a good 15 feet above the crowd--and sommersaulted almost right on top of me. one kid broke his leg from a mosh pit. i almost singlehandedly had to carry a wayward crowdsurfer on my shoulders. i didn't see him coming. too bad it wasn't a chick :)... i've got a royal rumble feedback blog over on myspace... i'm gearing up for a big weekend. tonight i'm refereeing in exotic hoisington, ks... tomorrow is the superbowl. i'm pulling for the new york giants since they're the underdog against essentially an established dynasty in the new england patriots. realistically though i think it will be all patriots. if i was a betting man, i'd say the patriots will be victorious by a 17 point margin. i see it a as a win/win situation because i have friends who are big fans of both teams so i'll be happy for whomever comes out on top. i'm also glad the indianapolis colts aren't in the picture. i don't know what it is about them i just don't like. as a result, i think it will be a better game than last year's superbowl... i was working like a madman on updating my journal of wrestling experiences last night, and i'm almost on track with where i want to be. it really got my heart beating as i was proofreading and reliving what i was writing. crazy. a new poem is on the verge of completion...

savoring the down time»01.24.08 w 7:40 am cst

the coming weeks are going to crazy busy for yours truly. i guess i'll just have to savor the in between time... if i can get a ticket for the killswitch concert tomorrow, i'm probably going to end up going. i've been able to scrape together enough cash. the question now is if the show is sold out and if i can physically get myself to stay awake through it and go to work only a few hours afterward. man, i wish it was on a friday or saturday night... i'm psyched for the royal rumble this weekend--one of my favorite pay-per-views... i shouldn't have to say this, but i'm going to. i want to make it clear that i absolutely reserve the right to close down or reinstate my website(s) with or without notice at any time. consider this the first and only warning.

a poetic beginning to '08 »01.14.08 m 10:30 pm cst

andrew's b-day celebration was great fun. i saw a lot of the old crew i hadn't seen in ages and met some new members... jeff hardy just turned himself into a human sacrifice on raw. brutal. other than that, it was grade a entertainment... a new poem is ready already for the new year. i call it "vulnerable..." if you induced from that that poetry from 2007 would be committed to the vault you would be correct. by that i mean a password will be required for viewing it. and so i have i chosen; so it shall come to pass... the pics are up on myspace from the last update. a few more lesser important ones may or may not be added. it all depends on how lazy i feel. looking down the pike, i'll have more wrestling adventures which will consume most of my effort.

"good times... awesome" - doug»01.10.08 th 8:10 am cst

happy birthday to my homey andrew. i'm looking forward to the party... new wrestling experiences are coming along slowly but surely. i've got a lot more work ahead of me. the first is up--"from row a..." about the smackdown/ecw taping in wichita. exclusive pics are available to my friends on myspace. i'll also have more exclusive pics up from my encounter with wwe's "hacksaw" jim duggan and layla from this past weekend in the very near future.

peter steele: atheism to catholicism»01.04.08 f 7:55 am cst

here's what the wikipedia entry i alluded to in my previous post: "In April 2007, Steele revealed that he began identifying as Roman Catholic in recent years, after decades of self-professed atheism. In an interview with Decibel magazine, Steele explains 'There are no atheists in foxholes, they say, and I was a foxhole atheist for a long time. But after going through a midlife crisis and having many things change very quickly, it made me realize my mortality. And when you start to think about death, you start to think about whats after it. And then you start hoping there is a God. For me, its a frightening thought to go nowhere. I also cant believe that people like Stalin and Hitler are gonna go to the same place as Mother Teresa...'" there is a strong possibility that i could become much more wealthy in the near future. i'm looking into getting a second job, and all i'll say right now is that it's not something i've ever done before... 'twas good to catch up with the big chief this week... major congrats are in order for ku for winning the orange bowl... tight wad stuff shirt apartment managers around here haven't learned their lesson. i went to renegotiate a new lease on my apartment. i knew my rent would increase a little, but not 18%. i talked the chick down from a whopping 41%. that's those communication skills put in practice.

a __.s_.a._t.__isfying start to the new year»1.02.08 w 8:20 am cst

happy new year! 2007--while better for me than 2006--still wasn't that great. i'm somewhat optimistic about this year. i celebrated the holiday by working, sleeping, eating, watching raw, and then chilling with some old friends in haysville. i ended up sacrificing some quality nap time between raw and my next shift and work, and i almost fell asleep between airings on the clock. yikes. then i slept forever again. :)... i read one of the most profound things i've read in awhile on one peter steel--lead singer for the band type o negative. i put that up later as i'm pressed for time... some new equipment is/has been added to "da playground..." i finished scribbling notes for the next wrestling back stories so that's the next thing. gotta run.

proud to be a wrestling fan if nothing else»12.21.07 f 8:15 am cst

merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone... if you've got "slinky" as a friend on myspace, you have the chance to read a brief rundown of my adventure this past weekend. let's just say i'm grateful to still have the ability to type this entry much less anything else... my Christmas was pretty uneventful, but it was definitely cool to get in some quality chillaxation time. my bro got a beginner's guitar. i was noodling around with it attempting to master the first few chords of "enter sandman" and "silent lucidity." eventually i'll get an acoustic... wwe tribute to the troops was really cool. that's got to be one of the best concepts wwe has ever patented but also one of the most dangerous. it makes me proud to be a fan.

r.i.p.»12.21.07 f 8:15 am cst

this entry is dedicated in loving memory of my grandpa who i just learned passed away last night. he was a rugged guy who had a strenuous work ethic. he held onto life while battling alzheimer's, parkinson's disease, and prostate cancer. i have some very poignant memories of him. when he was younger (which was not much older than my dad is now) he was very agile--very nimble. he could still play soccer with me and my brother. i think the thing i came to appreciate the most about him was how he served in the korean war. i never really talked with him much about it, and he never really brought it up. it's my experience being a wwe fan that really espoused my sense of patriotism with their annual tribute to the troops (which is ironically being aired next week). in turn this caused me to have more respect for those who defend this nation's freedom. my cousin jeremy in a way carried on the torch by joining the service. the last time i saw was almost exactly a year ago. he was so debilitated from alzheimer's that he could barely speak. but he mustered the mental strength to tell my dad that he loved him. i remember being moved by that because my dad said those words hardly ever came out of his mouth up until then... i think i got a lot of my genetics from him. no one else in my extended family more closely resembles him than me. i think that's what my grandma meant when she said i'm the most handsome of the grandsons. i can also pop my knees like he could. :) his funeral is tomorrow. for those of you keeping score that's also the day of the bbow reunion show. there was no feasible way to do both so i'm forced to make a tough decision. i had already committed to the bbow show quite some time ago. i remember one of my heroes--tommy dreamer--once showed up for an ecw show instead of going to his grandfather's funeral. the funeral could have been on any other day and i would have more than likely been able to be there. not to sound insensitive, but i have an obligation to entertain the bbow fans and to be there for my peers. and like my grandpa i have a strenuous work ethic. therefore i've chosen to fulfill my booking with bbow. i dedicate my performance tomorrow evening to grandpa "slinky."

things looking up for high times / bullies on "da playground"»12.20.07 th 8:00 am cst

more congrats are in order for my buddy john aka "high times" on his recent engagement and moving out of his parents place. :) he and his folks have been very kind to me in the past. keep on keepin' on, man... all right, just like in life i have excessively and increasingly little tolerance for harassment especially when someone brings it to "da playground." based on some incidents recently, i have upgraded the security level on my myspace account from public to "friends only" access on a trial basis. if you want to view my profile, you will have to be added to my friends list. for my friends already on there and to come, thanks for being cool. for all the haters and deadbeats, i just took away your candy. so i have chosen... this weekend is the bbow reunion show! i'm pretty pumped. i've got my fingers crossed that the weather will be a non-factor.

the good, the neutral, and the lame»12.19.07 w 8:20 am cst

good news before lame news hardly worth mentioning. first things first: congrats to pam and brian for graduating from my alma mater wichita state university. man, i was exhausted during the after party, but i toughed it out because i realize that opportunities like that are going to become fewer and farther between... i'm finally back to scribbling down stuff in my notebook. my memory of the past two wrestling experiences is still pretty vivid so it makes things easy. i'll keep you posted on my progress... now for the hardly worth mentioning. using my last entry as a catalyst, i feel the need to mention it's time like these when i really question if i should shut this site down. the burning question in my mind is, "is this site doing more harm or good?" sometimes it's a more difficult balance to strike than others. when i shut it down awhile back, i was preoccupied with the negative reaction i was getting from the minority. but it was the majority of friends who gave me positive feedback that brought it back. i've got to especially single out double b for his kind words about my wrestling experiences. and after some internalizing, i realized that i can say with a degree of confidence that this site is doing good.

what are friends for?»12.16.07 sa 7:43 am cst

wtf is with some of whom i've been lead to believe were my best friends not talking to me? and it's not just one of them. maybe it's just me, but i think it's horse s*** when people i've known for years don't even talk to me after i try reaching out to them day after day. yeah, i'll be the first to admit that i can be an ass sometimes, but if you respect me, i'll respect you. and i consider myself to be a fun dude to hang with it, but if people aren't going to at the very least talk to me then i'm going to move on eventually. here's the measuring stick: if i can have a more interesting conversation with a brick wall, then it's time to move on. or if you f*** with things that are personal to me, i'm going take myself out of the picture sooner or later.

i think the world the friends i have. and i thank the good Lord above for them frequently because there was a time when i didn't have any. do you know what not having any friends feels like? it makes you want to die. period. but i've got news for you: i've been to the darkest reaches of my mind before, and i'm not afraid to go to them again because i know that even in the most troubling of times there's someone watching over me. you know why? because i wouldn't be here today if there wasn't. i would have killed myself a long time ago if it wasn't for my beliefs.

so for all my so-called friends who aren't interested in talking to me but read these entries like wusses, know this: i thank you for the good times we shared, but s*** happens and changes. i'm not leaving this lifetime without a fight. i'm leaving on God's terms--not my own. if i seem bitter, it's not without merit.

so i have chosen, and so it shall come to pass...

i couldn't pass up the opportunity to catch one of the pioneers of heavy metal in concert this past weekend. i'm talking about ozzy osbourne. rob zombie and another band called in this moment were on the bill. my expectations were fairly high considering the credibility of ozzy and zombie. it was cold and icy out on the streets in wichita the night of the show. the defroster in my car wasn't working as well as it should so i had to pull over no less that three times to scrape off my windshield. it was bad enough to double what would normally be a 20 minute drive. i know A LOT of people came not only out-of-town but out-of-state and shelled out crazy amounts of money to be there. i saw an arkansas plate on an older truck, and the last time i checked front row ticket packages were going for as much as $999. i bumped into chad and thomas once i got inside the arena. i talked with them a little after going to the merchandise stand. i was ready to shell out $35 for t-shirt, but they didn't have the one i wanted in the size i wanted. can you say dealbreaker? no way was i about to take a smaller shirt for that price so i just told the vendor i'd rather buy it off the internet. and it wasn't like i got there after the show was over. it was about 15 minutes before in this moment took the stage. i found my seat easily. i was sandwiched in between two groups of people that remained fairly quiet and stoic through most of the show. the group on my right looked like they were amish so i kind of blended in with my raging facial hair. :) in this moment was pretty good. they reminded me of a lighter version of another heavy metal band kitty. they slightly reminded me of lacuna coil, too. they were o.k. i just can't really get into it when their chick lead singer was singing deeper than i talk. maybe it's just me. :)... zombie took the stage with a really elaborate looking set. i liked how the drummer was positioned what looked to be about 10 feet higher than the rest of the band. there was a bunch of b-movie horror footage rolling as the band jammed along. the coolest part i think was how each of the members used glow-in-the-dark stuff on their clothes to make them resemble skeletons when the lights dimmed. as for the actual performance, i think they relied way too much on audience participation. it was like they were there more to try to look cool rather than focus on the mechanics of playing which i thought kind of sucked. i would probably pass on seeing them again in the future. unless you are a hardcore fan and know all the words to their hits, you will probably feel gypped... then it was time for ozzy. he came out to one of the weirdest videos i've ever seen which included (but not limited to) biting the head of a pigeon in an old lady's panties, taking a dump in an office, and then pooring milk on a chick's tits, burying his head in them, and making high pitched noises. kind of funny--mostly weird. as for his set, i thought it was mediocre. i wanted to hear something--anything--from either his ozzmosis or down to earth albums and was completely denied. i'd say the highlight for me was either hearing "road to nowhere" or "i don't wanna stop." he had to lip sync parts of a couple of songs which i thought was kind of disappointing. lots of flashers during what felt like a 10 minute guitar solo from zakk wylde. it was a little too much for me. i think their road crew could have done way better on the audio. ozzy's ailing health kind of detracted from things, too. overall for $55, i'd say it was a stretch for how much money i spent... next concert i'm leaning towards going to is killswitch engage.

a pearl jam jam i actually dig»11.26.07 m 8:10 am cst

i finally found a pearl jam song that i like--"i am mine." as i explained to a friend of mine, i really want to like them, but i can't. they have like three cool songs and the rest to me are convoluted. i like what they stand for, too, but no matter how much i listen to them i can't seem to appreciate them as musicians... ku vs mizzou was a helluva game--possibly the best football i've ever seen. keep in mind that's coming from a not-so-avid viewer. no doubt that reesing left it out on the field that game... i neglected to elaborate on my last entry that my appearance at the ozzy/zombie show is my birthday present to myself. time slows for no man including yours truly.

*turkey burp* - robbo»11.22.07 th 8:00 am cst

happy gobbledy gooker day all around... i haven't forgotten about the site; there's just been a lot going on in my personal life. now i know what it must feel like to be a parent. there were a few days in there were they planned themselves, and i didn't have any free time. very much worth it though. i'm referring to all the wrestling action last week. check out myspace for pics. i sat down for the first time last night and put pen to paper for the backstories. it may be awhile before i get them posted... i made the big decision to go see ozzy over reffing on dec. 8. wrestling is still number one, but i can't be in two places at once... i'm stuck at work for eight hours and then it's off to momma "slinky's" for food...

the slinkification will be televised»11.13.07 t 8:15 am cst

look for me in the crowd tonight live on a nationally televised episode of ecw on sci-fi network. (check your local listings.) if you miss it, you'll have a shot to catch smackdown this friday which is also be taped tonight in wichita, ks. i'll be sitting pretty in the front row... ran into a dude i went to high school with yesterday, and he talked so fast i couldn't converse with him intelligently... i haven't logged onto matchmaker.com for about four years up until just recently. when i logged in, i got an e-mail from a chick who dropped this blue ribbon winning line on me: "i'm like a power plant. i've got a lot of energy, and i've got what it takes to turn you on." bwahahaha. what struck me about it was that it sounded like a pick up line some desparate dude would drop on a chick and not the other way around... ok, that's enough typing for now.

down with the sickness»10.27.07 t 7:45 am cst

sick again. third time in a very short time span. i was so out of it, i had to miss my first wwe pay-per-view this year (cyber sunday) last night. i'll probably just rent it or something when it comes out on dvd... i think jericho will redebut on raw tonight... i picked a few dvds to add to my collection: royal rumble from this year, rey mysterio: biggest little man, and the comprehensive undertaker collection... i slept a lot, and i'm still exhausted. i don't think i've ever been sick like this in my life. makes me feel old.

nothing really new»10.27.07 t 7:45 am cst

i added a poem originally from the "slinky" myspace to the gallery called "get real." i replaced it with a tamer (but just as cool) one called "welcome to 'da playground.'"

the gallery lives on»10.24.07 t 5:50 pm cst

i'm just getting over being sick again for the second time in about two weeks. that's gotta be a record... new poems up--"stealth" and "fragment." next project is to get the wrestling experience from lyndon added to the archive... watched some of rey mysterio's dvd with lewdie. whatever happened to blitzkrieg? that dude was crazy awesome. he would fit in well in tna right now... in other news, i'm fiending for taco bell :)...

job titles galore»10.20.07 sa 9:35 am cst

i went back and counted that i've held 22 jobs titles since i was 15. i defy anyone to top that. granted there were instances when i held down more than one job at a time, but i still think that's remarkable. here's a list of official ones i've held (some duplicates):

when wwe comes to town, i'm gonna catch that train»10.16.07 t 9:00 am cst

yes, i am aware that wwe is coming near my crib. yes, i am attending. and oh hell yeah, i'm front row with luke and lewdie!... life has been badass lately. i can't remember the last time i've felt this content with the direction my life is going. i finally feel in control. i sleep when i want, work when i have to, and kick it with my buds as time allows. there was time when i would have prided myself on getting where i want to go alone, but as the old adage says, "no man is an island." i wasted years trying vainly to disprove that, and it didn't work. through my experiences i've learned that life is a privilege, that people only value me as much as i value myself, and that karma is a mofo. i couldn't have done it without my friends. i'm tighter with them than i am with my own family... i picked up a radical t-shirt the other day. most radical...

should this day i be rendered dead
just remember that i said
be excellent to each other

da playground has a way of sorting 'em out»10.09.07 t 7:50 am cst

there seems to be a symbiotic relationship between sickness and lack of updates. for almost over a week i had a pretty bad head cold and then worked and then reffed on top of it. smart, i know... there's a wrestling experience to add and a poem to put up, too... on a totally different topic, i like it when my toughest decision for a day is deciding what to eat. no matter how i try, i can't understand what posesses people my age to get married and have a family. the sheer thought sends chills up my spine. probably has more to do with the way i was nurtured than anything... over on "slinky's playground," i've added a music project playlist at the suggestion of robbo. it certainly helps with my fickleness on deciding what song to have as background music. notice there's no metallica on there. that's not an oversight; i'm just not in mood to risk getting sued by my favorite band right now. :)

no spillage at the pillage wedding»9.18.07 t 8:05 am cst

chris' wedding was a fairly good time. it had to set some kind of record for being the shortest ever. the food kicked ass. and his wife did a keg stand. i was waiting for her dress to go completely over her head. :) no such luck... youtube is awesome. of course i've got to shill it because my alias is featured on it. don't believe me? go to it and type in keyword "whiplash wrestling." you'll be able to get a sample same of my alias in action. also, you can't miss the striking new h-blockx music video i've embedded on this page. the song is "freakin' sweet" as peter griffin might say... i've got some big news that i'll be spilling on myspace over the course of the upcoming days and weeks... and i'll be updating angel's myspace profile within the week.

people need to slow it down on the weddingness business»9.8.07 sa 7:35 am cst

less than a week away from my good buddy chris' wedding. should be a good time. i can't wait to see all the buds in the house that i don't get to hang with that much any more... the following week it's back to mayetta for the first whiplash wrestling show in almost two months... finally tracked down a copy of "jurassic park 3." i don't care what imdb says. that movie was awesome. ditto for "the forgotten..." as i discussed on myspace, angel's profile is coming along nicely. you can see the graphics i made in place. he selected a unique url so it's easier to remember than the numerical one: myspace.com/kingpin4q. check it out, and tell him "slinky" sent ya!

apple pie and barbeques are a thing of the past»9.3.07 m 7:55 am cst

laboring on labor day is getting to be pretty much routine. at least this year, i'm doing something i remotely enjoy. working 20 hours in one day sounds like a lot, but in tv it's not so bad because i get a ton of breaks. hopefully within a couple years i'll be saying that from the offices of titan towers in stamford, ct or tna headquarters in tennessee... i'm a little over 2/3 of the way through with the dusty rhodes dvd. i didn't care much for disc 1 other than the actual biography part. his stuff with flair and the honky tonk man was classic... this whole drug abuse thing that people have dug up on wrestling has me concerned that wwe's days are numbered... i've done a crapload of work during down time. angel's myspace has been updated by yours truly as well as my own profile. so check 'em out. food time!

new kickass pic»8.24.07 f 7:55 am cst

not a whole lot is new since the last monser update. there's probably a few typos in the new experiences to check up on, but for now it's good enough. i've been busy working on this new profile pic for my myspace profile. i think it looks pretty cool. there's some rough edges, but it's a work in progress... i've been watching a ton of movies. i have a deeper appreciation for the technical side of many of them from jumping back into the media business. i'm ramping up for a big 20 hour work day coming up next week due to a telethon. and no, that's NOT a typo... summerslam is this weekend. the potential is there for it to be one of the best in years... i bought the dusty rhodes dvd but haven't gotten around to watching it. louie loaned me his copy of the rvd dvd, and it blew me away. i offered to help him move this weekend so we'll see what happens... still no word from angel about the myspace thing... time to get back to work.

ginormous update»8.18.07 sa 7:30 am cst

it's unprecedented. this is possibly the largest update i've done to this site ever. the breakdown goes something like this:

  • EIGHT new wrestling experiences (i will no longer be referring to them as "kronikles" out of respect to the recently deceased crush)
  • a new poem--"from where lucifer fell"
  • THREE new pictures of me with abyss, homicide, and hernandez from the tna house show in wichita on myspace (viewable only by those privileged enough to be on my "friends" list on page four)
the other big news is that ANGEL of DA BALDIES has asked yours truly to design a myspace for him. i figure i owe him one for helping me out with a project for one of my college classes my senior year. also in wrestling news, it's been announced that BAD BOYS OF WRESTLING will be returning. and i'll just say that may not be all the wrestling news that i'll be actively participating in... possibly even more later.

almost done»8.14.07 t 8:40 pm cst

there's a ginormous update just around the bend and some pretty big news to spill--just not right now. :) i've got several kronikles to format, and then i'll finally be caught up. the content--which is the most time consuming part--is all there. if you're on my myspace friend list, you'll be the first to get the word because that's for my v.i.p.'s...

consider my writer's block un-blocked»8.10.07 f 8:13 pm cst

funny bumper sticker: "getting shot while commiting a felony is an occupational hazard."

big updates on the horizon. i figured out a way to overcome my writer's block. since i don't have internet access at my apartment, i've been jotting down stuff in a notebook foley-style. that way whenever i feel the urge, i can just pick up my pad and pen and get my write on. it's much easier than staring blankly at a computer screen trying to gather my thoughts. so as soon as i transfer my notebook stuff, i'll be back on track with the kronikles. around that time, there'll be a new poem and new pics from the tna show!... tonight = smackdown and josh's wife's going away party. i'll probably have to tape most of smackdown... all right time to make some news. and there's more to talk about later...

a seance and my life»8.4.07 f 8:33 pm cst

new poetry ("my life is mine" and "seance") is up. enjoy. - __.s_.a._t.__

a little chance of pace»8.3.07 f 8:05 am cst

this week's been crazy. i went from working an average of 26 hours or so to working 52 hours this week. yeah, it's been a little bit of an adjustment. then of course on my only day off i'll be out at the cotillion for the tna show. no complaints though--being busy like that certainly keeps things interesting... maybe i'll get around to that poetry later today...

[insert clever headline here]»7.27.07 th 7:55 am cst

congrats to my sister for getting engaged. i had no idea until last night. my bro brought a couple gifts for me from japan, but--wouldn't you know it--i left them at my mommy's house. my grandparents were also there. they didn't even recognize me. haha. i've been known to change my appearance frequently so i'm used to that response. had a great time catching up with everybody and razzing my littlest sister as usual. to borrow a quote from my friend luke, "WELP."

ego trippin' (consider yourself warned)»7.23.07 t 7:55 am cst

mucho gracias to everyone who turned out for the whiplash show this past weekend to see yours truly chalk up a career highlight. if you don't know what i'm talking about, you can find out over on "slinky's" myspace blog entitled "a f'n cool weekend recap." also you'll find my "great american bash" reaction... i'm getting really jacked up for the the tna show coming up on august 5th for a variety of reasons... my bro is on vacation here in the states from japan and i should get to meet up with him tomorrow. i haven't seen him--or my mom for that matter--in forever... i talked with robbo just before he left maryland, and it sounds like he had a great time and the big anime convention out that way... i finally got around to buying the tna "best of raven" dvd. i thought it was funny at times and intriguing at others but overall pretty lame despite the rave (pun intended) reviews on amazon.com. raven's is on the top of my heroes list, but i just think he's past his prime in tna. i didn't like that his match where he finally won the nwa title wasn't included. my favorite part was his fued with sabu. i was totally enthralled with it... my thoughts and prayers are with john kronus--one of the most agile big men in wrestling of all time--who past away a few days ago. he comprised one of half of my favorite tag team in ecw--THE ELIMINATORS. i have some really cool footage of his matches with saturn against sabu and rvd from back in the day. great stuff... anyway, gotta roll for now. i've got a couple poems that i'll post eventually...

i can't believe i'm putting kansas over»7.17.07 t 8:15 am cst

check out my myspace--with a NEW easy-to-remember url feature--for the big wrestling weekend coming up... who said kansas was a boring place to live? unreal. just this year, we've had the greensburg tornado, a surreal amount of flooding, and now this whole solvent plant explosion... i heard from my good buddy chris in the air force. he invited me to his wedding in september. man, lots of stuff going on... - "slinky"

wedding feedback»7.10.07 t 7:30 am cst

louie and sarah's wedding was an excellently fun time. man, it was out in the middle of bfe though fo' sho. i witnessed some stuff i never thought i'd see either of them do. sarah, for example, drowned half a bottle of wine in a matter of seconds. lewis drank a barbeque/coffee/other random stuff cocktail. luke said it was like a mudslide from spangles because of its dark appearance. (LOL). so lewis took a sip of it and spat it out right away. "i can't drink it because there's a coffee bean stuck to the roof of my mouth!" bwahahahahaha. that's just a sample of the fun we had. i could write way more about that, but i'm not that bored... on my only day off--sunday--i patronized cody's chateau--which is freakin' sweet by the way--and watched a few movies with him and some of his buds... monday was raw which so-so. the best part was the return of beth phoenix. *drools.* got to check out my dad's new place which reminds me a lot of our old house... today was nuts at work. i'm glad it's over with... lots of stuff to look forward to--wrestling show in mayetta on the 21st, my bro visiting from japan on the 24th, tna on august 5th, and whatever happens in between... welp, i'm a hungry hungry dude. i'm out. peace, ya'll.

live earth»7.07.07 sa 7:30 am cst

nice to finally get all that crap ironed out with the apartment people i mentioned in my previous update. sheesh. that was a pain... oh yeah, louie and sarah are getting married on this most popular day ever to get hitched. you know i'll be there. congrats, guys! i'll be watching for the burp kiss! LOL... on a completely different note, i just wanted to commend my favorite band of all time--no, not hanson but METALLICA--for participating in the live earth concert. i think raising awareness about global warming is extremely vital in preserving the earth not just for future generations but for those of us who are here right now. i think it's foolish that people blame the increase in climate and flooding on the jet stream or say that global warming is a myth. i was taught in school from a young that global warming is a very real threat, and it's appauling to me to hear people not take it serously. i find it hard to believe that people had to hear the government's study saying that the problem was caused by humans and not by animals to get a clue. well, duh! i don't see any animals pumping the atmosphere full of ozone depleting gases on the scale that we are. i for myself have started investing in energy saving light bulbs for my apartment that burn at 15 watts instead of 60. they cost more than normal light bulbs, but they are good investment because they pay for themselves and more when my electric bill shows up. they are also better for the environment because it requires less energy from the plants that provide me with electricity. i also make it a point to drive a fuel efficient vehicle. i could go on and on, but i'm sure by now you get my point. :) we only get one earth.

feels like the 4th of july... because it IS the 4th of july»7.04.07 w 9:00 am cst

happy fourth to all my peeps and buds. well, this fourth can't hold a (roman) candle to the one two years ago. at that time i was having fun with potpourri--you'd have to see the pics to know what i mean--and road tripping to talequah, ok. this year i'm trying to figure out what went wrong with getting the hot water turned back on at my apartment and the apartment people blaming me for some roach problem. oooookay. yeah, not a good time. i'm highly contemplating moving elsewhere... at least i got to pick up some extra hours at work WITH holiday pay AND a paid lunch. suffering through the last year of college was totally worth it... i've been feeling really good physically these past couple days now that i can actually sleep the length of time a person is supposed to. i also attribute it to totally eliminating alcohol from my life. str8 edj soldja... tna ticket arrived in the mail. sweet... louie and sarah's wedding this weekend. as dr. phil might say their "enthusiasm is underwhelming." with that in mind now it's lunch time. and remember freedom's not free.

retraction and deletion»7.02.07 m 8:00 am cst

well, i can't take back what i said about benoit, but i can delete it. so i did... if anyone knows where a sexy badass such as myself can find a copy of wwe vengeance 2003--the one with 'taker on the cover--anywhere in the wichita vicinity, let me know. mmmkay?

vengeance will be everyone who orders it»6.23.07 sa 9:37 am cst

here's my vengeance predictions for this weekend:

  • championship challenge match -- wwe writing staff if you're reading, just please don't let it be cena or orton
  • edge vs batista -- i'm thinking edge will retain the belt no matter what the outcome. as i'm typing this i can almost see batista getting a win by dq so he doesn't win the belt but bypasses the "do or die" stipulation.
  • cm punk vs benoit -- this match intrigues me the most because of (1) what's at stake, and (2) it's two of my freakin' heroes going head to head, man. tough call. i'll say benoit, but i'll be happy no matter who wins. is ecw about to become cool again?
  • santino marella vs umaga -- *yawns.* i just realized that santino may have been named after gorrilla monsoon. hmm... umm, oh yeah, a winner. santino to retain.
  • mvp vs ric flair -- TIGHT! two of my other heroes going at it. (yeah, i've got a lot of heroes, i know.) mvp to retain.
  • cade/murdoch vs hardys -- note to wwe writers again. please push matt SOLO as a champ. cade and murdoch to retain.
  • deuce/domino open challenge -- i don't want it to be like this, but here's what i think will happen: kendrick/london accept and lose.
  • chavo vs yang -- new champ to be crowned in yang. YEE HAW!
  • melina vs candice michelle -- melina all the way.

whiplash reaction»6.19.07 t 9:30 am cst

wrestling binge»6.7.07 th 8:30 am cst

it's a great time to be a wwe fan. how can you beat five nights of wrestling in a row? one night stand was stellar. the new ladder match dvd is pretty good. i watched michaels vs ramon from summerslam '95, and i had completely forgotten how good it was. it really cast a shadow over their prior ladder encounter at wrestlemania x... gotta roll.

hellyeah rocks»6.2.07 sa 7:20 am cst

i gotta be honest. i wasn't expecting much from the hellyeah show last night, but it was the most fun i've had in a long time. i waited until the day of to buy a ticket. it was only $25, too. continent of ash was so-so for a local band. soil blew my ass away. definitely need to invest in some of their material. hellyeah covered "stone cold crazy" which the lead singer said was "a cover of a cover." obviously he was talking about metallica covering the original song by queen. "but to put that hellyeah zing into it" the band renamed it to "stone cold wasted." i went ape. and i still remembered most of the lyrics even though it's been a long ass time since i listened to that song. it partially inspired my hotmail e-mail address for those of you who know it. VINNIE PAUL IS A BADASS. after the show, anyone who bought a hellyeah cd got to meet the band and get their stuff autographed. karl was doing security, and he gave me a jagermeister guitar pick. and yes, lots of ladies felt the need to put their boobs on me. i know; it's a gift. and somehow i managed to wake up on time for work. i would go so far as to say it was #3 on my list of favorite shows i've been to... tonight = saturday night's main event. man, that brings back memories of me beating up my babysitter because she said i couldn't watch it back in '92. lol... laters.

coolness maximus»5.29.07 t 8:45 am cst

i fixed a formatting incompatibility between mac and pc visitors to this page. pc users likely won't notice a difference, but mac users may wonder what happened to all the eye sores at the beginning of each update... the wrestlemania 23 dvd is excellent. it's a way better show going back and watching it for a second time. the cryme tyme dance party alone is worth the price of admission if you ask me... i'm thinking of boycotting the "one night stand" pay-per-view. how lame is that there is not ONE ecw original on the card? geez... cody loaned me his copy of the original "pirates of the carribean." in a word, it's kickass! (yeah, i'm a little behind the times there.) the dialogue is nothing short of superb. depp provides great depth as jack sparrow--and i'm only a hour and half into the movie!... on my "to get" list are pink floyd's "pulse" dvd, the wwe ladder match dvd, the mr. perfect compilation (whenever it comes out...) hope everyone had a relaxing memorial day. i can't beat getting to kick it with my buddy lewis for raw as usual. he is one of the most awesome human beings i have ever met. if any person alive reveres me as much i do him, i would be greatly flattered... i'm behind on some of my short term goals, but i'm hoping to get back on track by the weekend. nothing major and stuff changes all the time so no sweat if they get put on the backburner again... "just as soon as i belong / then it's time i disappear."

busy weekend»5.19.07 sa 7:15 am cst

this weekend is going to be nuts. i'm in the midst of a twelve hour work day--fifteen if you count my three hour break between shifts--then tomorrow is my only day off this week. my sister is graduating from high school, and then it's wwe judgment day that night. something's got to give, and i have a feeling it's going to be my sanity. es la vida...

"it's not the size of the dog in the fight; it's the size of the fight in the dog." - low ki»5.14.07 m 8:45 am cst

not a bad weekend at all. i got to meet one of my personal heroes--LOW KI. no picture to flaunt, but i did get his autograph. the most remarkable thing was when i shook his hand, he had a grip like a vice! my hand was throbbing for like five minutes afterward. no joke. more about that later most likely. tracy smothers was also in the house, and he had a mega old school match with michael strider. i mean that as a compliment. i think both those guys took about three bumps the entire match, and it was still probably the most over. i think there was a little too much time spent on the mic at the beginning, but other than that it was phenomenal. you want to talk about having wrestling psychology down to a science, then you would be wise to talk about tracy smothers. i did get a pic with him, and i'll probably have it up in the next couple days... i need a haircut. maybe i should go for the road warrior animal look this time. you know, just to change things up. hah... quick shout out to my bro across the pond in the land of the rising sun... late.

of wrestling and restaurants»4.22.07 su 4:45 pm cst

i think i went to more upscale restaurants by my standards the past three days alone than i have in over a year. first one was the texas roadhouse with jimmy, the skach attack, and mrs. skach attack on thursday. funniest thing of the night: joey asked the waiter where the green beans came from because he hadn't ordered them. "um, the green bean farm," the waiter replied. classic. tarman (elektra) was in town from sacramento so i had to say hi to my bud who's in desparate need of some rogaine :)... had a great time with nick-o and the haysville crew friday. went to buffalo wild wings where the waitress misunderstood josh's order and gave him "wild" wings instead of "mild." "this isn't what i ordered. these things are hot," josh muttered hoarsely. lol. jeremiah was back in town for a few days from dallas. i hadn't seen that guy since i was in high school. just about the same deal with chris. trippy... saturday was the main event because it was referee time in mayetta. i rode up with bht AND louie which made the show extra special. devan talked to everybody about the possbility of whiplash wrestling merging with the awa. i think that's an extremely prestigious business opportunity. found out that ecw's ANGEL from da baldies will be at the show on june 16. i really would love to ref that match. as for the actual show, i managed to screw up a couple finishes pretty good. big time D'OH! that was pretty much an omen of things to come. after that, i took a bump on my thumb during jammer's match (i think), and it was oozing blood. nothing severe so i just taped it up and went on back out. next match i thought for sure i sprained my ankle during the pinfall. at least i could put weight on it and hobbled off afterward. i've broken it before so i knew all the signs to look for, and they weren't there. everyone kept calling the main event a battle royal, but it was clearly a royal rumble. i was thinking back to the "secrets of the ring" with my hero raven where he advised selling legitimate injuries which seems common sense but often when you're in the thick of things may not be. so i oversold the ankle to the point where i was pogo-sticking on my left leg. i heard some fan behind me say something about, "i feel sorry for slinky." i knew i was doing something right because that's the babyface sympathy i wanted. a few of the peeps backstage and marks were asking me about it. i knew that high school drama class would come in handy at some point. :) after the show all of us wichita boys went out to old chicago. i was pretty wiped out so i didn't have a whole lot to say, but it was cool to listen to jammer and j.m.'s wrestling lore. luckily, bht was driving. i had been up since 3 a.m. the day before, caught maybe an hour or two's worth of shut eye on the way back, and didn't get home until about 4 a.m. all part of paying your dues. and i wouldn't have it any other way.

"it was a cherry mudslide kind of day" - cara»4.11.07 w 3:20 pm cst

nope, no poetry again. i'll (sort of) explain over on myspace... just thought i make a quick comment on the news that mark turgeon, the coach for wichita state university basketball, has accepted an offer with the texas a&m program. i had the distinct honor of interviewing mr. turgeon for wsu tv, and he was a class act. i didn't get into the sports aspect of my alma mater as i wanted to, but i can tell you firsthand that he's a great guy. he'll do great things in texas. best of luck... oh, and whatever you do, do it purposefully.

whoa, wrestlemania»3.28.07 w 1:30 pm cst

this weekend = wrestlemania. at the moment, it looks like i've got the day off work so i should be able to watch it. there's only a couple of matches i'm really looking forward to: money in the bank and kane and khali. it just doesn't look that great to me on paper, but i know everyone is going to be striving to be at the top of their game... man, i keep running into people i haven't seen in months and in some cases years left and right... i've got today and tomorrow left at my current job, and then it's on to greener pastures. and it sounds like another close friend of mine is close to being part of the same team. i'll just leave it at that for now. looks like i'll be working early mornings for the time being... i'm pretty bored with the current state of the hard rock scene--even with the return of guns n roses and the debut of bands like hellyeah--so i've been listening to more rap lately as the lyrics of the moment would suggest. i got my first taste of young jeezy over on paul diamond's myspace... i picked up a cheap copy of nwa-tna's bound for glory 2006 ppv on dvd. it was great stuff except for the main event. many of the matches garnered "this is awesome" chants from the crowd... contrary to my wrestling experiences writer's block, i've got some new poems to be added once i get some more time and remember to do the deed... peace y'all.

st. patrick's day homicide feedback»3.20.07 tu 11:30 pm cst

i feel like i'm right on track with where i want to be at this point in my life now that i'm officially back in the media. it's an honor to work in the same building that jonathan coachman did many years ago--not to mention all the history that has been made there. i can't thank big head ted enough for helping out. i am most grateful. the job will require some personal sacrifices, but i think it will be well worth it in the long run... well, homicide couldn't make it to lawrence due to transportation problems. nwa central states anticipated this as an issue and with their backs against the wall sanctioned a no dq match between mark sterling and dingo machete. the action spewed out all over the building. in one of the most hardcore matches i have ever seen live, sterling introduced THUMBTACKS into the match. the finish saw dingo get the win and the title following a german suplex onto the tacks! "OH MY GOD!" i was sitting front row and i got a huge splotch of blood on my arm and a little one on my shirt from the match. tony morales was also in the house and had a fantastic little match with tyler cooke... i am WAY behind on the wrestling kronikles, but i just don't feel inspired to write much lately. writer's block sucks... oh well, there's a lot going on these days. to all you college students out there, life after college can still be eventful. at least mine is... oh, and be sure to check out my myspace page for some exclusive pics that you can't find on this site. and, yes, they feature the crazy captions you've come to expect from yours truly... what else? TOOL is coming to wichita. tix are even more pricey than last time which i guess shouldn't be much of a surprise. wwe will be in topeka. i'm apathetic about that because of the venue. and metallica is collaborating on their ninth album. they've also released their own rendition of the "ecstasy of gold" which is pretty killer. lots of stuff coming down the pike... later, people.

news that totally reeks of awesomeness»3.17.07 sa 1:30 pm cst

i have to make this brief for now, but i intend to elaborate more later. i broke the news already on myspace, but i've accepted a position with a local media outlet as a floor crew member. i couldn't be more excited. i dedicate this personal triumph to anyone who's ever doubted me. and there's been quite a few. one step closer to wwe!... this weekend is going to kick ASS. here in a few, i'm on my way to lawrence, ks to meet nwa-tna superstar HOMICIDE. to make things even sweeter, tomorrow is my first day off work since february 28th. it's going to be righteous... gotta jet.

the job search continues»3.4.07 su 3:50 pm cst

this week's been weird but tranquil for the most part. i've been mailing out a bunch of copies of my resume hoping some company will take notice. i never anticipated finding a job in the media would be this difficult considering i have a degree and relevant experience... for now i'm back working at my second job. i'm pretty pissed that i have to work this saturday afternoon/night. for those of you keeping score at home, yes, that means i'll more than likely be forced out of the whiplash wrestling picture for at least this weekend. now i'm wondering if this won't be just an isolated incident. :( i'm really in a bind right now because i don't want to do something unethical and jeopardize termination in a line of work even though i don't particularly enjoy it. and i love (refereeing) prowrestling so much. maybe something will change over the course of the next few days... on the bright side of cool stuff, I GOT THE NEW SENTENCED DVD. there was ONE copy of it at best buy, and you know who that came home with. i originally ordered it off the internet some time ago, but it still hasn't arrived. if and when it comes, i'll probably try and sell it to my buddy sam. the production value on it was extraordinary... the last episode of raw was horrendous. then on the contrary, smackdown was hella cool from top to bottom. i think mr. mcmahon just has a tendency to go overboard with his promos on raw. it's cool to see him back on smackdown tv... cody bought a copy of captain n: the gamemaster on dvd. i laughed until i cried at some of the "offbeat shenanigans" and "unabashed hijinx" the episodes had to offer as lance storm might say. i was all about with the show as a kid; i NEVER thought i'd see it again--much less the first and second seasons all packaged together. what a privilege. cody lent me a copy of "the death of wcw." i've read most of it, and it reinforced some of the qualities of being a good person to do business with that i'm trying to embrace... next week, it's back to the grind. i probably won't be able to update as much, but you never know... peace.

"adrenaline starts to flow / you're thrashing all around / acting like a maniac / whiplash..." wrestling»2.12.07 m 9:00 pm cst

i want to thank all the great folks who showed up in mayetta, kansas for making this past weekend's whiplash wrestling show a great success. i want to specifically single out devan, bigg dogg, tribal warrior angel, and jc thunder for allowing me the opportunity to continue entertaining wrestling fans all over kansas. it looks like mayetta may be the new hoisington as there is a second show already booked there for march 10. i know i can't speak for all the talent, but i personally had a blast. i was very happy with my role in the show... i've got a lot to work in my free time, but i'm dedicated to continuing the "kronikles" portion of this site. stay on the lookout for my take on this past weekend's show...

new kronikles»2.1.07 th 5:30 pm cst

not one, but TWO--count them--TWO new kronikles have been added to encounters of the wrestling kind. in the first, i recap meeting wwe's maria, cade, and murdoch, and in the second, i relive my first pay-per-view experience. pics from both "adventures" coming soon... i mentioned this on myspace, but for all fans of the band tool especially the "lateralus" album, i highly recommend you check this out.

royal rumble royally kicks ass»1.31.07 w 9:00 pm cst

the royal rumble was off the hook! who would have thought cena and umaga could have put on the best match i've seen in a long time much less match of the night? props to my cousin theresa for letting me watch for free as usual. i highly recommend purchasing it on dvd whenever it comes out... speaking of wwe-related dvds, i got my grubby little hands on a copy of "ecw: extreme rules." i'm really digging what i've seen so far... i had a great time over at cody's for movie night. thanks for the invite!... i'm VERY interested in one of mtv's latest projects called "wrestling society x." louie introduced me to it. i caught most of the first episode and thoroughly enjoyed it. my boy matt sydal had a great matchup with jack evans. the best thing about wsx is their pyro. it puts even wwe's to shame... i'm a little annoyed that one of my favorite bands--the blue man group--is coming to my 'hood the exact same day as wrestlemania. there's no way i'm missing 'mania, and i'm sure bmg tix are insanely high priced. if it's wwe or bmg, it's no contest. i know where my loyalties lie... i've accepted a referee booking for february 10 in mayetta, ks for all interested parties. slink e. myers returns to do his thing in the ring!... also i should have some new wrestling kronikles up in the days to come...

myspace is your space»1.28.07 su 4:41 pm cst

tonight = wwe royal rumble. i'll be over @ my cousin's 4 it... went and saw "pan's labyrinth" last night at the behest of my good buddy robbo. he was marking out about it on myspace. it's a one of a kind flick, and definitely not boring. i don't normally enjoy fantasy or war movies, but this one did it for me. if you decide to go see it, be prepared to read english subtitles because the movie is in spanish--unless you know spanish :). it's certainly not one of my favorite movies, but it's recommendable... i found out something that i thought was pretty cool. on highway 54 passing through wichita, there's this inscription on one of the walls that begins with the phrase "fly envious time..." well, i did a little research and found out it's an excerpt from a really cool poem called "on time" by john milton. when i was high school, we had to read another perhaps more famous work by milton called "paradise lost." i thought i'd post the full version of "on time" here because i thought it, like triple h, was that damn good:

"FLY envious Time, till thou run out thy race,
Call on the lazy leaden-stepping hours,
Whose speed is but the heavy Plummets pace;
And glut thy self with what thy womb devours,
Which is no more then what is false and vain,
And meerly mortal dross;
So little is our loss,
So little is thy gain.
For when as each thing bad thou hast entomb'd,
And last of all, thy greedy self consum'd,
Then long Eternity shall greet our bliss
With an individual kiss;
And Joy shall overtake us as a flood,
When every thing that is sincerely good
And perfectly divine,
With Truth, and Peace, and Love shall ever shine
About the supreme Throne
Of him, t'whose happy-making sight alone,
When once our heav'nly-guided soul shall clime,
Then all this Earthy grosnes quit,
Attir'd with Stars, we shall for ever sit,
Triumphing over Death, and Chance, and thee O Time."
