Election Postponed
Election for New NFA Executive Committee is postponed to Chaitra 31, 2058 (13 April 2002). This is learnt from NFA Laision Office at Babar Mahal, Kathmandu, Nepal. This is decided by the Election Committee coordinated by Mr. Bal Krishna Khanal. The Committee is composed of Bal Krishna Khanal (Coordinator), Kumud Shrestha and Hari Narayan Mandal as members of the committee. According to the committee:
1. Election to be held on Friday 31 Chaitra 2058 instead of Saturday 25 Chaitra 2058 BS.
2. Eligible Candidate list to be provided to the Election Committee by Present Executive Committee at 16 Falgun 2058 BS.
3. Eligible Voter List to be provided to the Election Committee by Present Executive Committee at 26 Chaitra 2058 BS.
4. Candidate Nomination should be submitted to the NFA lission office, Babar Mahal by the end of 5 PM on 27 Chaitra 2058 instead of the same time of 22 Chaitra 2058 BS.
5. Withdrawal of Candidate Nomination should be done by the end of 4 PM 30 Chatra 2058 instead of the same time of 30 Chaitra 2058 BS.
6. Candidate Final List will be published by the end of 5 PM 30 Chaitra 2058 instead of the same time of 24 Chaitra 2058 BS.
7. Voting Campaign can be done till 12 noon 31 Chaitra 2058 BS.
8. Voting will be done from 1 - 5 PM at Babar Mahal, Kathmandu, Nepal (Near NFA Laision office)at 31 Chaitra 2058 BS.
9. Election result will be broadcast in the evening of the day of Election.
NFA Request
Renewals of the membership can be done at the Regional Ad hoc committee's Offices by the end of 10 Falgun 2058 and 10 Chaitra 2058 for Candidacy and Voting, respectively. Such facility will be extended to 15 Falgun 2058 and 15 Chaitra 2058 who wish to do the same in NFA Liasion Office at Kathmandu, Nepal.

NFA requests to revoke Shyam Sundar Shrestha's Transfer to Rolpa
NFA has requested to revoke the transfer of NFA Executive Member and this web page designer Shyam Sundar Shrestha. Mr Shrestha has transfered to a very remote district of Nepal, Rolpa.

Community Forestry: A Reality (In Nepali: Samudayik Ban: Bhram ra Bastabikata)
Joint Treasurer Mr. Bala Ram Adhikari and Nominated Member Mr. Narendra Man Babu Pradhan has tendered resignation from their respective posts. Mr. Adhikari has tendered his resignation in April 4, 2001 and Mr. Pradhan has tendered resignation in February 7, 2001. Mr. Kanaihya Raj Shrestha has been nominated as an Executive Member of NFA in March 2, 2001. NFA President has right to nominate two Executive Member.
Happy New Year 2058! NFA President Dr. Himmat Singh K. C. has withdrawn his resignation in the Special General Assembly held on Saturday 18 November 2000.

On Sunday 19 November 2000(4th Marga 2057 BS), NFA celebrated Foresters' Day with plantation followed by Stress Management Program at Osho Tapoban, Nagarjun, Kathmandu. On Monday 20 November 2000(5th Marga 2057 BS), NFA General Secretary Mr. Dhruba Prasad Acharya has filed a resignation from the post of General Secretary of NFA.Click here for his resignation letter.

Escaped Murderer
Suspected Murderer of Mrs. Bijayashwori Prajapati, the wife of NFA Member Tulsi Bhakta Prajapati is under Police Warrant. The crime had occurred on 2057/3/8 (June 22, 2000) in her residence at Bhaktapur. The criminal was houseboy before the event. Now he is disappeared and probably escaped to India. All the Foresters or netizen/citizen of the world are requested to inform us if he was found.

He could come to work as a houseboy in your home, or neighbours', or friends' home.

It is obvious that he is a very dangerous to anybody who employs him! He is suspected murderer! PLEASE BE AWARE AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES!

The suspected murderer Devi Raman Adhikari is 25 years old and inhabitant of Subarnapur VDC, Parsa District, Nepal. He was born in Begnastal VDC, Kaski District, Nepal.

Nepal Foresters’ Association, NFA is organising a national level ‘Forestry Exhibition' or 'Forest Science and Technology Exhibition’ in order to create awareness on the importance of forest science and technology for the social, economic and environmental development of the country and also to open-up avenues for further development.

The main objectives of the exhibition are:
* To generate peoples’ awareness on the present status of forests and forestry in Nepal;
* To share the development, innovation, and challenges of Nepal’s forestry and create collaborative opportunities of organisations concerned; and
* To create awareness among general public on the importance of inter relationship of human beings with forests, wildlife and biodiversity.

Forests provides us not only those very essential goods and services but also governs the biophysical processes in the biosphere.

How does it govern and why is it indispensable for the sustenance of life on the earth?

Since Nepal is located at an unique topographical and geographical place in the globe, it comprises various types of forest ecosystems and a wide range of floral and faunal diversity.

What is the present condition of these floral and faunal diversity and what relation do they have with human beings? May we survive without Forests?

Want you know the answers of all about these above mentioned questions?

Please do visit ‘Forestry Exhibition’ or "Forest Science and Technology Exhibition" in Birendra International Convention Hall at New Baneshwar, Kathmandu on 28th and 29th of Chaitra 2056 BS.
