OLA Marks 75 Years

Mr. Dick Rossi, Honorary Chairman of the Jubilee Celebration recounted the dual dedication of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars and the Sisters of Mercy. Countless Peninsula Hospital patients and the elderly have known the compassion and ministry of the friars and laity who minister to them daily. The children of OLA can today enjoy a wonderful school that was established by the Sisters of Mercy, the friars and countless parents. Today the school is thriving thanks to the dedication of so many dedicated lay staff and faculty.

The OLS 75th Jubilee was very well attended despite the fact there was
a 49ers game being aired locally.
Bro. Michael James was also celebrating his 75th birthday!
The Jubilee Mass was celebrated by the Most Reverend William Levada, Archbishop of San Francisco. The liturgy was very well attended by the Sisters of Mercy, the friars from various regions as well as by the local clergy and a vast congregation.
