I've been following gymnastics seriously since the 1988 Olympic games. Although there are several good international teams out there, my favorite gymnasts generally come from the United States thus this page is focused on U.S. gymnastics.
I have included links for official gymnastics organizations, publications, merchandise and various athlete pages. I hope you enjoy this page. Please feel free to send me any questions or comments.

---|---|---|
Vanessa Atler | No current gym | Vanessa should have been on the 2000 Olympic Team, but was pushed out by politics. She is extremely talented and it's too bad she never got to realize her Olympic dreams, but she now coaches and choreographs. |
Amy Chow | West Valley Gymnastics | Amy was a 1996 and 2000 Olympian. She is an accomplished pianist, diver and scholar. She is currently attending Stanford School of Medicine with the goal of becoming a pediatrician. |
Jamie Dantzscher | Charter Oak Gymnastics | Jamie was a 2000 Olympian. She competed for UCLA from 2001-2004. She graduated in 2004 having had an incredible amount of success in NCAA gymnastics. Way to go Jamie! |
Kristen Maloney | Parkettes | Kristen was also a member of the 2000 Olympic Team. She competed for UCLA from 2001-2005, graduating in 2005. |
Shannon Miller | No current gym | Shannon has always been my favorite gymnast, not just because she is an incredible athlete, but also because of the way she conducts herself. She just seems to be an all-around great person. Shannon has won more Olympic and World medals than any other American. She is simply incredible. She has come back from injury time and again to compete and has always been a rock-solid performer for the Americans. She retired from competitive gymnastics Dec. 1, 2001. She now lives in Boston and attends Boston University Law School. |
Dominique Moceanu | No current gym | Dominique was the youngest ever national champion at age 13 in 1995. She went on to compete in the 1996 Olympics helping the American team to gold. |
Tasha Schwikert | Gym Cats | Tasha had the incredible luck of stepping into the Olympic spotlight when Morgan White's injury kept her from competing. Tasha became a 2000 Olympian and made a huge impression on the gymnastics community. She was a solid performer in Sydney. In 2001, she captured the all-around title at the U.S. National Championships. She now competes for UCLA, where she is a sophomore. |
Kerri Strug | No current gym | Kerri was the youngest team member on the 1992 U.S. Olympic team. She barely missed making the all-around and struggled for the next four years before coming into her own at the 1996 Olympic games. She missed the AA there as well, but finally got the recognition she deserved when she landed the final vault on an injured ankle helping the U.S. to team gold for the first time ever. Kerri now works for the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. |
Morgan White | Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy | Morgan made the 2000 Olympic Team, but had to drop out because of an ankle injury. She began training again shortly after the Olympic Games, but decided to hang up her gym bag and pursue acting instead.
In addition to Morgan, other Olympic athletes have also trained at Cincinnati. 1996 gold medallists Jaycie Phelps, Amanda Borden and Dominique Moceanu trained here. |
Kim Zmeskal Burdette | Texas Dreams Gymnastics | Kim was the first American ever to win a World Championship All-Around gold medal. I remember that meet like it was yesterday. She competed at the 1992 Olympics where she helped bring home a bronze medal for the Americans. Kim coached and trained at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy before moving back to Texas where she coaches with her husband, Chris Burdette. She also had a baby boy recently, Ryder Burdette. |
Various gymnasts including Vanessa Atler for a short time before the 2000 Olympic games | World Olympic Gymnastics Academy | WOGA produced the 2004 all-around Olympic gold medalist, Carly Patterson. This gym is reported to be a great training environment. |
