To the
Sites of Italy
Here are some Italian sites to explore. The first one was put up by the Italian government for the Jubilee year of 2000. The jubilee year of 2000 was a great success. The Jubilee lasted until the end of the year. While it is more of an ecclesiastical celebration, it gave the Italian nation an occasion to show off it's considerable art treasures and other wealth. Since the Pope has closed the Holy Doors, the response was awesome!! Come see Rome now that the jubilee is over, with the lighter crowds of a normal tourist year. Now that it's over, the wait is twenty five years! Here is the daily news from one of the foremost newspapers or giornale which is called "La Repubblica." It is only in Italian!
Here an another site not so easy on your mind. My grandfather and family come from a small town south of Bari. The family name is Mastroleo. The name of the town is Castellaneta. My grandmother came from a small town on the shores of Lake Bolsena (Lago di Bolsena), which is called Capodimonte. This town has it's own web site. Grandma's family name was Pannucci. There are still members of the family here. These sites are entirely in Italian.
Here it is! Capodimonte from the air.
