1970
An appreciation was given to Mr. Kenneth E. Kingham, assistant headmaster and dean of students. "Known for his fairness, Mr. Kingham is universally respected for his vast contribution to the school and is respected by all who come in contact with him.






1971
In his 21st season at the school, wrestling coach Neil Buckley registers his 300th career victory at the school, against just 34 losses. Coach Buckley's teams were 89-0 in league competition.

Football team runs it's unbeaten streak to 19 games and wins the Inter-Ac title.

Soccer team also wins the Inter-Ac with a 8-0-2 league record; 12-1-3 overall.

1973
Mr. Kingham retires as assistant headmaster and dean of students.

1974

1976
New courses are added to the curriculum: 3D design, Music, Computer Science, and Science electives.

1977
Mr. W. Boulton Dixon, Head of Middle School leaves Haverford, where he has taught since 1966, to become Head of Columbus Academy in Ohio. He is succeeded by Mr. George Miller.

1978

An appreciation is given to Larnie Keith for his dedicated service to the school's maintenance department.

1979
Mr. Buckley's wrestlers win for a 400th time.

The new kindergarten is named for Mrs. Winifred Howland, who retired in June.

September 8th, the $750,000 Severinghaus Library is dedicated; Mr. Severinghaus gives the address.

1981
The first floor of Wilson Hall is renovated with a new board room, offices and a classroom.

Plans for a new arts center are announced. Projected costs are to be between 2.2 and 2.8 million dollars.

1983
From 1967 to 1983, the top ten colleges that Haverford graduates went to were:

Bucknell 30
Duke 27
Harvard 27
Lehigh 26

Layfayette 23
 

1984
The new arts center is completed.

1986
Biology labs are renovated in Wilson Hall.

Mr. Parker Announces his intention to retire in June. He is asked to stay another year to allow more time to search for his successor, and does so.

Mr. Cunningham is the new Middle School Head, succeeding Mr. John Albrecht.

The Board of Directors announces the selection of Mr. W. Boulton Dixon as the sixth headmaster.

The Board of Directors announces the selection of Mrs. Nancy Kelly, the first woman to be named to an administrative post in the school's 104 year history

The new gym is named in honor of Mr. Parker.

1988
Mr. Neil Buckley, in his 42nd year of teaching, wins his 30th Inter-Ac title.

1989
Soccer team tallies 200th victory under coach Joseph Tatta.
