Friends of 846

How it's started

Many people had thought about the idea of having our own page. In Oct. 1996, Wang Zhanjun sent mail to 846ers' in US about his plan to visit the States in November. He didn't really decide where to visit after his Las Vegas stop, which triggered a bunch of e-mail campaign as where he should go next. These e-mail messages brought up a lot of new addresses of USTC 846er's in the US. Suddenly everybody realized that there're a lot of things about 846ers' he/she doesn't know about but is very much interested in knowing. Wen Huafeng suggested the idea of creating our home page, which was immediately welcomed by all.
