Sound Monitor is a GNOME panel applet, it displays the current Volume output of the Esound daemon, also, optionally shows the Esound status: Off(error), Standby, Ready. The esound daemon can also be started, set to standby, and resumed from the applet's right click menu. The esound server information can be displayed, the balance and volume can be also be adjusted for streams and samples. An extra program, esdpvd is included that will allow saving of stream volumes between sessions. Note (how to get it): This applet is usually maintained in the gnome-applets module of GNOME CVS. Update (devel version available here): This is version 1.3.2, it will be merged back in to gnome-applets once the next development cycle begins. This version adds transparency capability to the applet, and includes a new theme that takes advantage of the new feature. Missing in this release is internationalization files, too much is involved to pull them from gnome-applets for this unstable release, since it will be going back anyway. The current version is 1.3.2 (June 5, 2000) Download: sound-monitor-1.3.2.tar.gz (325k) Requires: Screen Shots showing several Sound Monitor applets on one panel (different panel background in each shot, note the third applet from the right): |
