Subject: Problems running DMEE on new faster AMD computer
Date: July 25, 1999
Operating System Ver.(Optional): DOS
Hardware used (PC, Video...): 486, AMD K2 350MHz

Comments:
I can still operate DMEE on an old 486 machine, but on my new computer (running an AMD K2 350 MHz CPU) the program crashes the machine during loading. I am using the vesa drivers, and do not think the video driver or card is at fault. Is it possible the new cpu is running too fast for the old software? I visited the AMD website, but found no support on running old DOS programs with their processor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Subject: DC CAD Screen Resolution
Date: Tue, 04 May 1999
Operating System Ver.(Optional): Win95, Win Nt
Hardware used (PC, Video...): Cirrus Logic 54xx PCI VGA

Comments:
I'm currently running DC CAD in 1072 x 768 mode by using a Cirrus Logic 54xx PCI card, Win9x, and executing "DDIVESAP.EXE 2 1" in the VESAB directory to load my video driver. The best I can do in WinNT is 640 x 480, which is almost unusable. Also, the best I can do in Win95 with an AGP slot card is 640 x 480. If anyone out there has a video card/driver combination that works better than 640 x 480 under NT, or with an AGP slot card, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks,

Operating System Ver.(Optional): NT 4.0 Workstation/Win95B dual boot O/S
Hardware used (PC, Video...): ATI Expert@Play (3D rage pro)

Comments:
I've been using DC/CAD for over twenty years, and have been struggling with the video drivers almost as long. I'm currently running NT 4.0 Workstation/Win95B dual boot O/S with an ATI Expert@Play (3D rage pro) video card. Anyone out there found a driver /options combination that works above 480 x 640 with that card?? (any OS). Anyone running at 768 x 1024 with any AGP video card and NT or Win95 ??. Thanks for any help you can give,

Reply/Question/Comment (R/Q/C): R: Is there a current CAD that can read DC-Cad files?
Date: March 31, 1998
DC-CAD Version (optional): 6.02 terminator

Comments:
The only software I know of that reads DC/CAD format is CIRC-IT (PCB Design DOS software with Read/write DC-CAD format capability) from ICM Corporation . (Sales 1-800-293-5279 ) They were sending out offers to DC/CAD users a year or more ago. Received a demo where I didn't like the user interface so I didn't purchase it. 2 other visitors have mentionned receiving the demo (one liked it & one didn't). ICM's address info is un er the Supporters link on the main page.
If you are trying to convert a file to a specific CAD package and don't know the new file format then you may be able to convert the gerber to the other format (if that option is available) and then delete the pad stacks and add new dollies. The schemati pretty much has to be redone from scratch. This method worked for me when converting an old Smartwork project to DC/CAD.
