I am building a new system and thinking of using Linux as the operating system. I use Win98 now and will probably upgrade to 2000 when available. If I go to Linux, what version is comparable to the features of Win98. This will be for a stand alone PC. All I find on Linux talks about server and network features. Also, what version is best if I have Win2000 or NT 4.0 in a dual boot system with Linux. This would be on a 20.5 gig drive with 600Mhz or better PIII.

I am a total newbee to linux and have had it running on a partitioned hd for awhile until with a click of the mouse [in BootMagic] I wound up with a boot up screen "loading BootMagic" that just sat there. Had to take the box to my local guru and we had to clean out the hdd and reload windows 98. That is where I stand now and I want to do it all over again. God I love this stuff>>>Dave
