PACIFIC GROVE POSTCARDS
From time to time people ask, "Where in the world is Pacific Grove?". So Kay Rigg created this set of postcards to help answer the question. These six small images contain video shots of Pacific Grove taken on the afternoon of 7 Dec 1990. They look best when viewed with VGA at 600x480, they are 1/4 screen at that resolution. Of course you can also use higher or lower resolution to match your graphics card and monitor.
Lover's point is one of PG's most popular parks. The food concession is named Fat Albert's and when the day is nice, and there are a lot of folks in the park, the owners open up Fat Albert's and sell some hamburgers. Nobody's too serious about all of this, least of all the owners.
This image shows the giant kelp sculpture at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The aquarium actually sits on the border between Pacific Grove and Monterey. If you are a Star Trek fan, this is where the whales were kept in Star Trek IV.
PG's shore birds include the Stilt, I caught these two napping.
We have the funkiest little lighthouse in the world. This is the view of the back of our lighthouse, you can see Monterey Bay in the background.
These are typical rocks along the PG coast. With this stuff lining our town, you'd think we'd be more serious about our lighthouse.
The citizens of Pacific Grove voted to float bonds to protect the breeding grounds of the Monarch butterfly. As you can see from this sign, they serious about this.
