LM9832 - the new version of LM9831 Based on the feedback from customers about LM9831, we decided to release another version of LM9831 to meet requirements from some customers. New chip will be called LM9832 and was planned to go mass production in March, 2000 end.
LM9832 will be a super-set of LM9831 so those customers who are using LM9831 now will have no problems to switch to LM9832 in the future. All the hardware and software are potentially 100% compatible.
We do encourage customers just go ahead to design in LM9831 and produce scanners on LM9831. Also the pin-to-pin 16 bits of LM9831/32 is coming soon!
We are not going to stop LM9831 production until no one is going to purchase it from National. So please go ahead the LM831 production if you can stay.
