Once my comrade Victor, who has some experience in computing, asked me about program for his wife Olga. She works at the school in our city Lugansk as a teacher of biology. Olga teaches pupils in both ordinary and specialized classes. And she need instruments to control understanding of her courses with the minimal time expenses and, sometimes, during the lecture. Second task was concluded in ability to test without Olga' presence in the absence of time. Third, students must have ability to study items themthelves additively to receive good marks. Fourth, right answers can not be revealed to the studens. Fifth, questions must have different order on each student's computer, when the students received the same task. Sixth, the program must be able to process three types of the answers: simple, composite and "the chain". Seventh, partial right composite answers must be evaluated. Eighth, the program must be able to work with composite formulas, pictures and videos.
Victor found many programs. But no one of them matched his goals. Then I prolonged this search with the same results.
And we decided to create new program, which must be easy for the novice of computing, as Olga, and, simultaneously, matched pronounced goals.
I wrote the first release of this program and we tested it in the real environment. Than I changed awkward parts. Program was tested with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0. But we have received some system problems with few very old computers, on which was conserved DOS compartible mode of Windows. Newly created program was written as 32-bit application. Therefore, I wrote 16-bit version for such computers. Both versions was made full compatible.
Now we saw that pupils more often took the books "to receive good mark on the independent computer".
After that I decided to offer SCHOLAR to your attention. Program was
extended with two language interface and ability to work with the network
(my comrades haven't the network at the moment).
