1997 GCE O Level Exam results

Our GCE O Level Exam results have surpassed all expectations. We made a very significant improvement over 1996. Our Mean Subject Grade (MSG) and our Value-Added Score were both the best we ever had. We obtained an overall MSG of 2.44. Whilst it would appear that we will improve on our ranking for 1997 (which will only be published in August), we are very pleased that our boys were able to perform beyond expectations across all ability levels. Based on their high L1B5 score, we are confident that we will be ranked well and in the top 5 in the Value-Added list.
The average PSLE score of the 1997 cohort was only 228 and yet they have achieved the best results in the history of the school. We are very proud of them and their teachers of the last 4 years who helped them to get to that high standard of performance.

These are the boys who have added real value to their perceived score as measured by PSLE. They have worked against the odds and have done well and surpassed our expectations. We commend them for their excellent performance. We salute all these students who have performed above their level of ability.
Once again, I must congratulate all the teachers. Students in Sec 4 will do well when they have been well taught over 4 years, not just one. The teachers of Secondary 4 have to put in a lot of extra, hard work to bring boys to the final level. The fact that they have done so well at the final hurdle means that you have all done your best for them. You have all done well. I thank you sincerely.
