As I failed to get into the Unit Drill Instructors Course due to some problems. With the O'levels looming above my head and the urge to score in the O'levels. I was placed in a difficult phase of my NCC life, whether to stay on or give up. However, there was a promise by LTC Andy Sim that there would be a promotion to SSG. Thus I stayed on.
AETI was holding such a course for the first time for the SQN 04s. We were introduced to the practical side of AETI with demonstrations on the workings of the A-4, F-5. We put what we had learnt from the AETI courses into good use.
I volunteered for the Specialist Course and the SQN 01 Camp both held in June.
I took part in the Wargames Competition as a reserve.
Marched in the NCC Day Parade as a Guard of Honour Member. Had to undergo lots of rifle practices even though it was the O'level year. But it was well worth the effort
Finally I RODed after 4 years of active service in NCC. The ROD parade was held in AETI and we had to slow march out of the Parade Square.
