With thirty years of experinece in the residential design field, Philip E. Smith Interior Design brings a unique insight to your interior design project. With a Master of Fine Arts degree in textile design from the Rochester Institute of Technology's pretigious School for American Craftsman I not only understand the construction of textiles, but also the proper application to fit the particular needs of the situation albeit upholstery or drapery.

I have studied textiles with such luminaries as the late Else Regensteiner of the Art Institute of Chicago and the late Donald Bujnowski of the School for American Craftsmen. Philip E. Smith Interior Design is known for its lavish use of pattern and color. My understanding of color is due in part to my studies with Else Regensteiner a student of the well-known color theorist, Josef Albers, who taught at the Black Mountain School as well as Yale University.

My sense of color and design further matured with years spent in Europe and Central Asia.

Philip E. Smith Interior Design has done projects in Colorado, Vertmont, the metropolitan New York area, Main Line Philadelphia and Paris, France.
