Repvoc is a and you big brother GRepVoc is the same program but:
Repvoc born in 1993 as a .VOC player for my ADA001C board (a simple 8 bits card that I created).
With the time Repvoc was geowing and growing.
In 1996 I created a graphic version of RepVoc and I discovered DJGPP with these two element I created GRepVoc.
Today RepVoc and GRepVoc supports the following formats:
Repvoc and GRepvoc are the best programs I ever wrote.
Samples | |
---|---|
VOC | Created by the Sound Blaster utilities, is a format from Creative Labs (the manufacturers of sound blaster). If you don't have a Sound Blaster you could not play the compressed versions of the format. Supports the 1.20 version created by the Sound Blaster 16, then if you have a common Sound Blaster and you can't play these new files, here is a solution. |
WAV | Is the native format of Windows, also used by OS/2 and a lot of utilities. |
SND (SOUND) | Used by Sound Tool of Martin Hepperle. |
SND (FSSD) | Comes from Mc Intosh, this format is supported, but the sound is played at 11025 Hz, this works but some files are sampled at 22050 Hz (and , it's too much strange, some are at 7350 Hz and even 5512 Hz). |
AU | This format is native from SUN, but it's used by other workstations like NEXT. |
8SVX | It's a part of the IFF standard used by Commodore Amiga. |
AIFF | It's a part of the same standard but is the flavor used by some workstations, for example SGI (Silicon Graphics). |
IRCAM | I don't know the origin or the correct extension for these files, but the format is supported. |
AVR | Are from Audio Visual Research and are supported, but only in theory because i never see one of these files. |
WAD | Yes!!, the data format of DOOM, REPVOC can play the sounds inside of these files (DOOM I, DOOM II and ROTT are suported). |
PAK | That's the data files of Quake and are supported too! |
SEQ | These files are generated by one of my old programs designed for a Digital board that i designed too, i suppose that you don't have any of these files. |
SCRS | Originally from Advance Digiplayer, is used by Scream Tracker of Sami Tammilehto to save the instruments. |
SMP | From Sound Tools SampleVision v2.1. |
MOV/QT | The soundtrack of these movies is supported |
Modules | |
MOD | The legendary Amiga format.Supports .MODs of 4 to 32 channels, including the varyings: M.K.,M!K!,xCHN,xxCH and FLTx |
WOW | Is a modified version to support 8 channels. |
OKT | From Amiga's Oktalayzer (With some limitations). |
MTM | Another variant to support up to 32 channels (With some limitations). |
Instruments of (ONLY INSTRUMENTS) | |
S3M | Is the format used for the new verions of Scream Tracker. |
PSM | A format used by Epic MegaGames. |
669 | A variant of the MODs of 8 channels. |
Synthetized | |
SBI | Is the format used by the synthetized instruments of the Sound Blaster utilities. |
INS | Is similar to SBI but it's native from AdLib. |
BNK | Are the instruments banks for SBI. |
IBK | Are the instruments banks for INS. |
CMF | Are melodies with synthetized sound created by the Sound Blaster utilities, to play these files correctly you need the SBFMDRV.COM driver from Sound Blaster, if you don't have the driver the support is poor. |
Here are some snap-shots from the program.
