I've got a Glock story that I think you'll appreciate. I lost my model 22 in a boating accident out of Deerlodge Montana a couple years ago. It spent two weeks underwater until a local fisherman discovered it in my pack. I had reported it missing to the local authorities, and luckily enough the fisherman turned in the whole pack. The police shipped all my gear back to me at no cost! Gotta love Montana, huh? Well the gun was full of sand and silt and starting to rust on some of the metal surfaces. After cleaning it up, it shot as good as it ever did. Pretty tough weapons as far as I'm concerned.

My Glock 21 had battery acid spilled on it. After cleaning it, it looked like shit but shot great. Just shows you what a piece of plastic can actually do! Keep shooting those fighting tupperwears and be safe!

This may not sound to torturous, but did you ever carry in the waist band? Do you sweat a lot? I do, and I sweat a lot! I had problems with corrosion with a parkerized colt revolver and even a stainless gun. Two years of Glock 26-finish hasn't a spot.

I have a Glock story you might be interested in. While hunting in the Mojave desert about a year ago, I had my Glock 17 in a thigh/tactical holster (which by the way is very comfortable)on my right side. Going down a hill I lost my footing and you guessed it went head over heels the rest of the way down. When I stopped at the bottom I was pretty torn up but my first concern was MY GLOCK!! What else? Well it was scratched, full of dirt, rocks, sage brush (and a little blood). My first thought was to run to my truck and clean it, but I figured what the hell it supposed to work under adverse conditions so I checked just to make sure the bore was clear and proceeded to empty the 17 rds out of the magazine as fast as I could. It went through it without a hitch and my devotion to my Glock went up another notch. Great website! Keep up the good work.

Subject: spelunkin' Glock 19

A good friend of mine is an avid spelunker in the mountains of East Tennessee, where we both live. A few months ago, he was carrying his newly-purchased Glock 19 in a large cave that required a rappelling entry. He had explored the cave to his satisfaction, and was perfroming a free ascent using climbing ascenders. When he got to the top of the cavern and was climbing out of the cave, the glock fell from his belt holster and fell the 80-some feet to the floor of the cave, with an awful clatter. He told me " I just sat there and said, 'I can't believe I just did that'." So he anxiously rappelled back down into the cave, and naturally, left his light up top. So, here he was, 80 feet down in a cave looking for his Glock without a flashlight. Luckily, he had installed Meprolight Night Sights, and the faint green glow was enough to steer him to his pistol. Again, he free-ascended, and upon reaching the top, climbed out of the cave. Tired, and wiser. The good news was that there was no indication of the fall on the finish or the function of the 19. It was fully loaded with Cor-Bon 115gr JHP's, and he fired the pistol just as it came out of the fall. So, this indicates that Glocks are as good for exploring the Underworld as they are for the mean streets.
