Now, about myself. Hmmmm, where will I start? Ahh, yes, with the present.....

Well, I am presently working as a staff auditor at the Office of the Public Auditor in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. I never thought I would be working as an auditor again, much more in an island like Saipan. But here I am, working as a staff auditor for the Commonwealth's best Public Auditor. And I get to work with the best Filipino auditors I have ever met, not to mention with very diverse audit backgrounds. I also get to work with former external auditors who used to audit UCPB, the bank I used to work with in the Philippines.

I have been working in Saipan for almost three years now, and for me who loves island living, this place has been a paradise. You can tour Saipan online by going to the homepage of Saipan Datacom, the first and the best internet service provider on the island. They have great web pages there dedicated to the beautiful island of Saipan. Click on the link to start your tour.

You might wonder why I endorsed Saipan Datacom as a website, well my first year in Saipan was working with them as the Chief Accountant. I was one of the pioneer employees for that company. We started as a relatively small company that just wouldn't stop growing. Saipan Datacom was the first internet service provider on the island and we had a lot of very eager customers who want to jump right down on the net. Just imagine the excitement of working in that situation. Working with Saipan Datacom was exhilirating and a very great learning experience for me, especially on the aspect of the internet. Right now, Saipan Datacom is still growing and getting stronger with the same dedicated management and staff, inspite of the ever increasing competition sprouting and supported by much bigger companies. To Saipan Datacom management and staff, keep up the great work and KUDOS to you guys.

Before Saipan, I was working as Chief Accountant of the Island Cable TV-Chuuk in Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia. ICTV-Chuuk was then an affiliate of the United Micronesia Development Association here in Saipan. Chuuk was one of the four pacific islands where UMDA established cable TV stations. The other three were in Pohnpei, FSM; in Palau; and in Majuro, Marshall Islands. ICTV-Chuuk was my first ever attempt at working overseas. I used to think before that Chuuk was part of the island groups in Saipan, but then I learned that it was another island group somewhere in the vast pacific ocean. So small that I could not even find it in the world map.

Working in Chuuk for approximately four years had tempered my city-dwelling adventurous self. I get to become a home loving islander devoid of the glittering city night life. At the start, life there was so boring and overwhelmingly lonely, but then the island spirit gets to grow within you after sometime. Island living have their own advantages as well. There were no more gruesome, congested traffic jams like the ones in the stretch of EDSA; no more migraine-inflicting pollution; no more hot, dirty, and stinky humid air; no more waiting in line for hours just to get a bus ride home; and best of all no more catching up a running bus and squeezing yourself in to get a ride, and if your lucky you may still get home in one piece and with your wallet in your pocket. This may sound like sour-graping, but I get to count my blessings when working here on the islands. I love the blue sky and the vast and long stretch of beaches where you can take a swim anytime you like. And I like the easy traffic of the cars around, with commuters that are a lot more disciplined than at home. But then again, city life is an adventure in itself that I get to crave for once in a while.

In the Philippines, I was working as an EDP and Financial Auditor in the Internal Auditing Division of the United Coconut Planters Bank, at their head office in UCPB Building in Makati Avenue, Makati. I've spent my first nine years of working with UCPB. The bank had given me so much working knowledge and expertise that contributed to my being able to cope with work situations overseas.

That has been a very long summary of my work experiences. This page tends to get longer, I guess I need to end here for now. Try to check the other sections of my homepage as well. I have a gallery of pictures that you may like, feel free to browse. Thank you for visiting my page, you are welcome to visit again.
