Hi, I'm Lynne Yale and welcome to my homepage. I create my soft sculpture
figures in my Ramona, California home stufio. The dolls I make are all one of a kind and I do not have patterns for sale. I like to make interesting people into figures, and some angels and santas. I have exhibited my work in galleries and trade shows. I'm a member of the Academy of American Doll Artists, and I do some shows with them each year. Like the Toy Fair, and the Santa Fe, New Mexico art show and AADA's own show in New Hampshire in the Fall. I have been among the Viewers choice winners the past 2 years at the Dimensions in Dollmaking show at the San Diego Convention center in summer. My figures have been seen in several newspapers and magazines, including the cover of "Arts and Activisim", the cover of the Borrego Sun newspaper, a profile and pictures in Doll Crafter, articles in The Cloth Doll, photos of my work in Contemporary Doll Collector, "Dolls" magazine, and a recent Summer '99 article in Soft Dolls and Animals magazine.
My techniques have evolved over the past 10 years of trial and error, lots of practice and observation. The heads and hands I make are needle sculpted out of 2 layers of nylon stretched over hand dyed (peach) fiberfill. I use glass-like eyes and wool for or mohair for hair. I combine plastic pipe and covered wire for amatures. My dolls are usually larger than 20". My prices start at about $200.
