I Lie Awake
I lie awake and wonder why, it is I lie awake
Swimming in a sea of dreams of my dreams forsake
Thinking of the thing that is and what is meant to be
Yet in my wakend state I know this I can not see
Searching for the answers questions not yet formed
Running round in circles clouds create a storm
Try to find the thing that is and what it has become
Turning over rocks and stones when will it be done
Moments flash an insight drawn then it slips away
Walking in the shadows in the middle of the day
In the thing that was once whole and will be again
An ember burns so brightly now sparking in the wind
A thought begins to grow inside speeding past a time
Realization can take hold it is what once was mine
And the thing that is shall be a future to behold
No more shadows to haunt the day a story to be told
I lie awake and wonder why, it is I lie awake
As I finally drift off to sleep, my dreams I'll not forsake
