So Much Better
I see
the sunset and hear the wind’s gentle whisper
Can
taste salt on my lips and feel the ocean spray on my face
No
one around for miles, I listen to the sounds around me
Filled
with the beauty of creation I turn to say . . .
It’s
better to be alone then lonely, better to be safe then hurt
Best
to hide away then face the pain again
Whisper
to the wind a need inside as the sun gently warms me
Sand
slipping through my toes I walk a little ways
Seagull
has found a catch its shriek echoes through the sky
Children
playing in the sand, there’s a castle on their mind
Loving
couple walking by, smiling hand in hand
A boy
being chased by his mother for straying to close to the waves
Yeah,
this is so much better, to never miss a beat
To
live the lives through other people save this heart of mine
It’s
ok, I don’t need a thing, I have the world here now
Nothing
wrong, no worry here, which can’t be covered with a smile
It’s
really not that bad at all, when you think of things gone by
No
one here to go away, no tears, no screams, no knives
At
night I read a book or chat with a distant friend
Write
my words for comfort and then start it all again
It’s
so much better to be by myself, than risk it one more time
So
much better to not step out, than have the hurt begin
No
promises to be broken nothing to scar or tear
So
much better to be alone then face the hurt again
