FIRST LOVE They met when they were children, she was two and he was four, It was where she resided, while he visited next door. Each summer was adventure, the children had such fun. They learned to swim and fish and crab while playing in the sun.
Birthday parties with their friends, they learned to water ski. And then as they grew older, they parted company. Both were off to college, their worlds were to expand, As they began their journey into a grown-up land.
She studied journalism, reported for the news. His efforts were in business, and then he paid his dues. While visiting grandparents, their paths would cross once more. They were back where they belonged, beside the Jersey shore.
Old memories and a friendship, which they both did enjoy When she was just a girl, and he was just a boy, Resurfaced and as time went by, their love began to grow. He placed a ring upon her finger so the world would know.
In June of 1994, becoming man and wife, They started off together to make a brand new life. July of 1997, Melissa joined their nest, She is a little beauty, so full of life and zest.
We send them our good wishes for every new tomorrow, And wish them happiness and strength to cope with any sorrow. May they rely on faith and strength supplied by God above, And thank him for his guiding hand, which sent them their FIRST LOVE. |

FIRST GRANDSON YOUR HAIR IS DARK, YOUR EYES ARE TOO; I DON'T KNOW IF THEY'RE BROWN OR BLUE.
WE LOVE YOU WITH OUR FOND EMBRACES, AND THEN YOU MAKE SUCH FUNNY FACES!
SUCH TINY HANDS AND TINY FEET, YOUR LITTLE FACE IS OH SO SWEET!
AS NEW GRANDPARENTS, WE'RE VERY PROUD, WE WANT TO TELL THE WORLD OUT LOUD.
I GUESS WE'RE ACTING KIND OF SILLY ABOUT OUR BRAND NEW GRANDSON, BILLY |

WHO IS THIS BABY Who is this baby in my arms, This child whom I love so? He brings back memories of the son I held so long ago.
I feel the softness of his face, I see his big brown eyes. My heart melts every time he smiles. I listen to his cries.
He's come to spend some time with me, I'll miss him when he's gone. I never understood 'til now The wonder of my first grandson! |

FIRST GRANDDAUGHTER A little girl, oh what a cutie, Someday she'll be a raving beauty!
The traits that come from Mom and Dad Become the child who makes us glad.
So soft and pink, lovely and small, The miracle of Bridget and Paul.
Our first granddaughter will bring such bliss, Which comes from the baby whose name is MELISSA |

THE HAND OF THE FUTURE Her mommy went to work, and so we took her up to bed. She lay down on the pillow beside her grandpa's head.
As she lay there sleeping, her hand curled round my finger, She looked so peaceful and content, it made me want to linger.
I may not be there when she's grown to see just what takes place, But I held the hand of the future, as I kissed my granddaughter's face. |

MIKAYLA We waited and waited there by the phone The tree was all trimmed, and how the lights shone. Gingerbread cookies your mom had been baking, The gifts were all wrapped and there for the taking.
Sister Melissa was not really sure, As Mommy and Daddy went out the door. Shadow and Scooter watched hopefully, While Jessie relaxed under the tree.
When your daddy called to give us the news, We asked him this question, "What name did you choose?" Awaiting his answer, and holding our breath, He announced the arrival of MIKAYLA ELIZABETH
Five days before Christmas, the gift that was given, Our new little granddaughter sent down from heaven! |
