Way of Dragons (A Foreword)
Takin' away your
silver dower,
Show me your sandwiches.
Show me
working electricity -- .And tell me no fantasy
lurking
In the factual, some magical
geometry. ButIs there any way to avoid, escape
my arrival
At the knowledge that Imay be
a celland will change into another?
We're . . .
are living in the finesthours, showing you
all the flowers,
showing you
all these structures. . . .tellin' y'all energy
functions in a marginal
dependency -- in wav'ring
religiosity/
But is there --ain't there any way of enhancing . . .
is there any truth in "romance," or
Or . . . no survival
from the knowledgethat I
maybe a cell,
and will turn into another!Well, . . . well you gave me containers of wine and
meat.
then you changed your car to other colors:
how can I forget the quest of-
of makin' it througha way o' dragons?
Mechanics, Science, and other labels,
have
far gone
as
I
can
see.

Way of Dragons
Read The Poem
The poet's Romantic "anti-song poem" poem cum elegy about an awed working class' consumerism. The piece also relates this class' condition to a conspiracy theory on the push by an elite society of the scientific findings on our smallness and/or genetic limitations. And so consumers become apathetic contented numbers, but really a horde kept from high-technology access.
