3/25/00
Woohoo, my first update since 99. I'll bet some of you out there were thinking I had forgotton all about my site. I hadn't, I've just been doing other things lately. And finally ... a new poem. I'm sure anyone reading this who actually looks at my site from time to time was really getting tired of the same one there...I mean, it's been there since Oct '98. But, I'm finally over my writer's block. Finally. Don't know about anyone out there, but I'm rejoicing over here. Expect more frequent updates, I'll be working on my site more often again.

  • In a haste, so I'll be brief here:

  • Put some photos in the photos section,

  • Added two more artworks I've been meaning to add,

  • Added two new contributed poems, check them out,

  • Some other little maintenance things.

  • What...you can't tell I updated the page??

  • Just kidding...lesse...most of what I did you can see. Changed the background, changed the banner, changed the dividing gif, changed the way my buttons great and small look...etc., etc. As you can see by the update block there, I've been workin on this for a little while, locally on my computer. Just uploaded everything tonight. =) How does everyone like the new look? It'll be here to stay for a while. I wish I could have added another poem to go along with it, but alas my writer's block is still here. Durn thing.

  • I've decided to stop trying to make the site look great in both the major browsers (Netscape and IE). From now on, my site's optimized for Netscape. Sorry to those of you who hate Netscape or love IE. Netscape is my browser of choice, and getting the page to look good in both is a hassle. I'm sure it still looks great in IE, so I don't think anyone using this browser has anything to complain about....

  • Also, from now on I'm using the cascading style sheets to do some of the editing on my page. It makes some aspects so much easier. The difference of me saying this from me saying it below is that I'm using a universal style sheet that's linked from the pages. That makes things sooo much easier, I can just open the style sheet and edit it instead of editing the style info on each page. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the external linking works in IE. If any of you out there are using this browser and the linking is working for y'all, let me know. Well, truly, like I said above, I'm not going to change it, but I would like to know if it works or not. I'll be using this style sheet to be changing the fonts I use and the margins of the pages and some other little things. I won't be placing all that stuff in the html anymore. I'll just leave what's there there. It still looks good if you can't see the style sheet stuff, but it looks even better if you can. =P

  • Lesse...what else have I added/updated that may not have been obvious? Ah, yes, I've added three new contributed poems, one by my good friend Adam Sandman, and two by my best friend and roomate, Sergio Hernandez. Be sure to check these out =) Hmm...I also changed the About Myself page, that might not have been so obvious. Just added a little more info there than was there before. Oh! I also added a new font to the fonts page, please download it; it's what I'm using for the font for my poems now. It's also the font that is used to spell out Darkshadow's Poetry Page in my banner. It's a nice, classy font.

Well, that's all I can think to say here right now, be writing more soon!

10/1/98-
  • Added a new poem to my page (and moved the other one to the other page).

  • Instituted a new thing: when you go to the page with my other poems, instead of just displaying the first poem (alphabetically) in the poems list, I'm having it show the poem I just moved there. (This only applies to people who can see frames...which is about everyone nowadays).

    That's all for now =)

9/26/98-
  • Fixed up various things:

    • Fixed the link to my fonts page.

    • Fixed my guestbook (it had too much load time, so I "archived" it).

    • Made every poem (mine & contributed ones) use the Merlin font.

    • ...and fixed up some little things I'm sure no one would notice even if I pointed it out

  • Took out the 'Friends' page; I only had 3 entries there, so I placed them in the 'some of my favorite places' page.

  • Fixed a few links.

  • Added 3 contributed poems.

Well, that's all I've updated so far....more to come later.

9/22/98-
  • Added a new section Photos/Artworks. Not much there right now, but I plan to add a lot here.

  • More updates to follow soon...

Wow...I can't believe I went this long without an update. My apologies to everyone. I've been busy (and lazy) lately. And it's still going...I have a few more things to update on my page, but I'm putting it off until later.
  • Changed the poem on my entry page (which I'm sure is much to the relief of my loyal followers).
  • Made the little balls next to the links part of the link as well, for the technically impaired (and those who couldn't figure out to hit the text).
  • Added a new page, my Fonts & Utilities page, where I'll be adding any special fonts used to view my page and any font utilities I happen to spy.
For anyone interested, here's what I'll be updating sooner-than-later:
    • I'll be adding two new sections to my page (which are seperate subjects):
      • A Dr. Pepper appreciation page (which to anyone who knows me won't come as a suprise.)
      • A Kaleidoscope page. This is a Mac control panel that completely changes the way your computer looks. A most awesome and must have utility. Sorry you Windows users.
    • fixing various links on my page.
    • adding a few new contributed poems (I'm Waaay behind on this one).
That's about all I can think of at the moment. (I woke up out of a sound sleep with an idea for a poem, then eventually headed here...time for sleep on my part)

Wow...I hadn't realized until now that I hadn't updated my page for a month. Sorry everybody, I've been busy with other things lately, and hadn't had a chance to. So, here's what I've changed:
  • Changed my poem on the entry page (finally). I've been meaning to do this, I'm sure some of you got tired of looking at the same one. The old one, as usual, is on the other page with all my other poems now.

  • Put Carmi's banner on the page with all my poetry links. I was amazed to find out that she had placed the one on my main page on hers, so I had to do the same for her =)

  • Added a few links on the Some of my other favorite pages link, and one on the poetry links.

  • Changed the SoHo gif at the bottom to the one they're currently using; also used a Java applet to make the water under it.

  • Got rid of the clock on my page...I'm sure I wasn't the only one annoyed by it...but I did keep the countdown to the new millenium.
6/24/98-
  • Added the Why 'Darkshadow'? link on my main page....check it out if you'd like.
    • Note: the page looks best with a browser that supports Cascading Style Sheets.

  • Fixed, changed, updated various things on various pages. Too numerous and not very significant to mention each.

  • Deleted the GeoGuide from my page.

  • Experimented a bit more with Cascading Style Sheets.
6/21/98-
  • Joined the GeoPlus which means:
    • I won't have anymore adds (and won't have the GeoGuide).
    • I have a lot more space...so I'll be adding new things.

  • Added a few CGI scripts that are a part of GeoPlus.
6/19/98-
  • Added cascading style sheets...you'll notice if you can see, the links on a few of my pages have no underline. You have to have a 4.0 browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer) to see this. (closer example: if the above date is bold and a big font size, you can see it.)

  • Changed my awards page to frames; deleted the link on my main page that said My Awards...didn't need it, it's integrated into the new, better, frames page.

  • Added Adam's Crestfallen Award...he claims he sent it to me a looong while back...but I didn't ever get it.

  • Added a bottom frame on the frame page of my poems to use to go back to the main page or e-mail me.

  • Deleted the buttons on the seperate poems that linked back to the main page and to e-mail, since I didn't need them. (See above why).
6/17/98-
  • Added the new award I won on the awards page.

  • Fixed the links to some of the pages the awards went to.

  • Added my new poem, moved the other one with the rest 'o 'em.
6/16/98-
  • Put the 'Proud Member of Poetic Whisper' JPEG on my entrance page.

  • Fixed the link to Poetic Whisper on my Poetry Links page.

  • Fixed all my "button" gifs so they look better.

  • Made the background JPEG on my page darker.

  • Changed the page on my poems, now it's a frame, for easier navigation. Click on the Back Home button to go back to the main page & get out of the frames.

6/13/98-
  • Took off the LinkExchange Banner.

  • Took out the background pic on the links table. I'll miss it, but it didn't give me room to add new links unless I edited it, plus it didn't show up right on MSIE.

  • Changed the links table so it at least looks good (though it still looks better under Netscape), plus added two new links to it.

  • Changed Adam's banner to his new one, and fixed the link to his site, The Virtue. Look on the Poetry links page for it. Also changed the link to his page on his contributed poem (The Caroline Method).

  • Fixed a few links and deleted a few dead ones.

  • Changed the Awards page, now there's a seperate page for the awards I've won and for my awards.

  • ...and finally, added this Update section.
