Enhanced Bookbinding Training in Europe Josée Van Loon is a private conservator/restorer of books and archives and teacher. She was the co-ordinator of a European Leonardo project on the education in bookbinding (1999-2001). The compilation of the results have been published in a book (ISBN 90-802791-3-7). Aim of the project was to create a European multidisciplinary network of bookworkers interested in the education of handbookbinding, conservation and restoration of archives and books. During two years 14 partners from 5 countries have been discussing the actual training of bookbinding in Europe and how it could be enhanced. The results have been presented on an international conference in May, 2001. This network is still active. The project was sponsored by the E.U.
