The Who

Quadrophenia at Madison Square July 18 1996 (A)
Setlist:
Quadrophenia in its entirety, plus encore of Behind Blue Eyes/We Won't Get Fooled Again/Naked Eye/Substitute

One of the early shows on '96's Quadrophenia tour, this gives a good example of what it was like. Only the MSG shows featured Billy Idol and child porn freak-o Gary Glitter doing various mod parts and singing. Yes, Roger's more mature voice has some trouble, a few lyrics are flubbed, and Pete sticks to a quiet acoustic for most of the show, but its THE WHO. Quadrophenia is one of my favorite albums of all time, and this was an excellent tour. I am still unsuccessful in finding a copy of the Indianapolis show that I attended, but this show served as a great reminder of that concert nonetheless. Recorded from FM radio, sounds good. Barely fits on a 110 min tape.

A collection of BBC recordings which is, bad to the bone! I think this is some kind of bootleg, but i got a CD-R of it in a trade. I read somewhere that the band might be releasing a collection of BBC recordings, but who knows when or what is on it. If you have never heard "Leaving Here" done by the Who then beg me to trade you this.

Note: I believe an official release of BBC radio sessions is to be release by the Who this Tuesday (2/15/00). I'm not sure what's on this, but I bet lots of the above are included. I'd recommend checking it out first before trading me for this one.
