Save the things you normally throw away in your normal life...i.e. plastic bag closers, disposable razors, plastic
bottle rings & tops, 'the pill' holders, cracker ties and other things that would usually end up in the land fill, but which will look good on your CRDH...If you know someone that works in a restaurant ask them to save these types of things for you...
A crest on your hat made of gallon jug opener rings looks great...
Look for stuff at yard sales where other's mothers are selling boxes of memories...If you go late in the day, offer a dollar or two for a whole box of leftovers and say they won't have to lug it back
inside...This usually works!!! Thrift stores often have boxes of useless stuff in the back, ask for it...And if you see something while you are walking down the street that looks interesting pick it up, take it home and attach it to your hat!!!
OK, you've collected a bunch of stuff and strung it on the string of your choice...You should have about 3 or 4 strings totaling about 6 to 8 feet...If you have a cloth hat use your safty pins and attach around the bottom of the hat... Make a second ring about an inch higher and so on till the entire hat is covered...
Or you could zigzag around... On my first hat, I painted a red strip down the middle of the hat about an inch wide and kept two long strings of junk separated by the stripe...
Go on to Part 4 -- THE FINISHED HEADPIECE
