Ode To Mom
Today we say good-bye to a dear friend,
a God mother,
an Aunt
a GrandMother
a Sister
a Mother
She had Cancer .... that ate at her body, yet could never touch her soul or spirit.
She always had a kind word,
a squeeze of the hand,
a hug,
a kiss,
a twinkle in her eye,
and a hearty laugh.
Even at the end. When ever asked how she was doing-her reply would always be
again, even to the end!She gave love and laughter and asked only for a "hug" in return.
She filled our hearts and gave us joy!We have had people which knew her for only a few minutes or a day, tell us,
"We are honored to have met her-she is a very special lady."As a daughter, I am blessed and honored to have had her for a Mother.
I gave her a plaque which saying holds true-even today!"If I didn't have you for a Mother, I'd have you for a friend!"
The three of us became very close her last 6 months. And I will treasure that for all my days.
I hope that each and everyone of you feel as honored to have known her as her family.
Remember her good days and her happy ways.
Most happy when bowling with her Sister (Betty) at Plum Hollow with all her friends, and just enjoying being with them when she was unable to bowl.
The love that she sealed into each and every letter she posted. The banter with the coffee clutch at Countryside Manor.
The rapport she had with children and animals. I can hear her with Brandy now....singing and howling.
Her love for plants,
and her love for family
and life itself. Her travels with her sister, Betty.
She truely did live life to its fullest.
ASKING for nothing more than a "hug" in return.I know she has gone to a better place.
A place with no more pain.
A place where loved ones, lost to us before, welcomed her with love and embraces.
