White House Ruin, Canyon de Chelly lies in the center of the Navajo Nation which is a part of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. The canyon lies in the Defiance Plateau, carved out by the Chinle Wash. However, the truly interesting part of Canyon de Chelly is the human history. The canyon has several ancient dwellings of the Pueblo people who lived in this canyon as long as 1300 years ago. Even before the Pueblos, other ancient people dwelt the canyon. Archeologists have traced evidence of civilizations as far back as 5000 years.
