GEORGINA PIONEER VILLAGE
. . . A WINDOW TO THE PAST
The Georgina Pioneer Village portrays Upper Canada Rural life from the rugged pioneer struggles of the 1800's. On view are original tools, utensils, furnishings and machinery, as well as restored houses, barns, and shops.
Located near the shores of beautiful Lake Simcoe and less than an hour's drive north of Toronto, the Georgina Village Museum is a heritage showcase for the pioneer days of Georgina. Eleven authentically restored buildings in a quiet rural atmosphere are furnished in an Upper Canada style. A detailed exhibit describes life as it was for early Georgina residents. Our buildings offer realistic displays of the lifestyles and businesses of the period.
It is truly a fun learning experience for the whole family. Pioneer lifestyles: their homes, barns and church come alive with actors in period costume. Watch a wool spinning demonstration. Hold you ears as a blacksmith hammers out a work of art on a real iron forge. There are so many things to see and do as you experience our museum.
