My first Teddy Bear purchase was a retired Cherished Teddy. Her name is Tabitha and she is dressed up as a cat for Halloween. I had always heard that your first piece should be a special one. She couldn't have been more special! Along with Tabitha I received an adorable stuffed bear named Karen for free. I also purchased the October Sparkles bear because my birthday is in October. I have a Boyd's bear that my Mom left to me when she passed away which makes that an extra special bear too.
His name is Wilson and he is a part of the Archives Collection.

I stopped by a place called Greater Gifts here in Belton and just my luck, they were having a 70% off sale on a whole room of things. Among them were Cherished Teddies and Calico Kittens! Naturally I had to buy some. I got "Hats Off To Friendship", "I'm All Wrapped Up Over You" in the Calico Kittens line. These two are sooooo cute!!!

I dropped by Kayla's Hallmark and picked up "Teddy Bear With Alphabet Block T" for my name and the one with the letter "M" for Mike's name. I also decided as a housewarming gift for my son and his fiancee' I would get them started in collecting. Soooo, I bought them their birthstone bears (June and September). Of course they loved them.

I was out window shopping and spotted the cutest little angel bear by Boyd's Bears. She is a very pale blue with a little blue flower,on a headband, on her head. I can't find her name, but when I do I'll list it. I also found Daniel, a retired Cherished Teddie, with his wagon backwards. I bought him too....

I live about 6 miles from a small town that survives as an antiques dealing town, "Salado". I spent the day on a bear hunt and I must have walked 30 miles... I hit every shop along the main street. WOW!! Was I glad I did!?! I found a store devoted to Boyd's Bears and another store devoted to Cottage Collectibles by Ganz. I have a new love now! Cottage Collectibles are "Artist Designed" by people all over the world, who do a wonderful job. I spotted "Bluebeary" and had to have him! He is soooooooo cute! He is of a blueberry coloring with gray paw pads, a brown stitched nose, black glass bead eyes, and a big bow. He stands maybe 3 - 3 1/2 inches tall and is fully jointed. I told the lady that she would get to know me real well, I'll be back!!!

I went to the Killeen Mall trying to find something to wear to the Cherished Teddies Artist Tour in Dallas tomorrow and found myself in Wicks & Sticks looking at a big selection of CT things. I bought an adorable lapel pin with the letter "L" on the block with the teddy. I am soooooooo excited about the show that I hope I can sleep....

I didn't sleep very good at all. I left around 8 a.m. to drive to Dallas and arrived at my friend Mistye's house by 10:30 a.m.. This was our very first time to go to anything like this an we were so excited that 1 p.m. couldn't come fast enough. Finally we get to Bunny's Hallmark and it is a Cherished Teddies collectors dream come true! CT's galore!! I joined the Enesco CT club and received my membership kit with all of the goodies in it. It had "Lanny" the leader of the parade (I got him signed), a mini figurine to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the club, and a 5th anniversary lapel pin. I also bought Alex to get him signed. They were giving out free CT keyrings and CT sunblockers for car windows, and an I love Cherished Teddies license plate holder. I got all 3 of them... We had a blast today!!!

Finally able to update! I have several pictures of my bears and I even have some real ones too. I also have a few pictures of my first attempts at bearmaking...
This is one of my bookcases in my living room.
This is a different view of my bookcase. Perhaps you see one of your bears there?
Here are some more bears on my entertainment center...
Here are some teddies having a picnic in the corner of my living room.
This is one of my shadowboxes. My other one is full of kitties...
Karen of KarenBears made this angel bear for me when my Mom passed away. I thought that was so sweet of her and I have treasured her and the bear ever since...
This is Camille. Tracey R., a friend in New York made her for me. She was the first bear that Tracey had made in years and I think that I created a teddy making monster, LOL!
