ON THE TIP OF MY TONGUE
© 2000 by Mary A. DeCarlo
It was round and firm between my lips as my tongue
flicked across the surface. Spicy, yet bitter and powder dry
beneath my wet exploration.
My fingers held it securely in place as the tip of
my tongue lapped determinedly over the now sticky surface.
Bitter sweet, it grew harder against my tongue.
Faster my tongue laved the surface, my mouth watering in desire
for the ultimate reward.
Suddenly, rich and smooth as silk, its sweet cream
flowed to coat the tip of my tongue.
Is there anything more sinful than a dark chocolate
truffle coated in cinnamon and cocoa?
