Reasons For enrolling in Multimedia Techonlogy As I'm interested in both Graphics and Computers, this course seemed both interesting and innovative (plus I didn't get into a Uni. Graphic Design course). Multimedia Tech. also offered varied subjects which appealed to me (except for maths) and seemed to be a course that would guarantee a job when you graduate. I don't really know what job I will aim for when I finish the course, as the Multimedia Industry could be totally different in three years time. However, I hope to be involved with animation, either for computers, games television or movies.

Reasons for doing my course: Excitement, challenge and variety are the main reasons that attracted me to the course. Along with providing a broad yet in-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry, global networks and both technical and creative aspects of multimedia systems. One need only look around and see the amount of technology upon which they rely. Continual change and development best describe the nature of the two fields. It is also the aspect of being able to influence and impact people's lives for the better, that also attracts me. I am also well aware of the current shortage of engineers and the good prospects that lay ahead for a career in this field. Thus indicating a need for specialist engineers in a field that has just begun to develop.
As one career advisor said to me, "The career or job path you take today, will not be the area
in which you may be permanently situated. New jobs and roles, that haven't even been thought of
today will be created in the future. It will not be unusual to change your career about 3 or 4 times
in your life."
