Well, these boys, then called JustUs, sang the National Anthem at a Dodger's game, won talent shows, and eventually sang their way backstage at a BoyzIIMen concert. They performed live on the radio and impressed Paris D'Jon, co-manager to Montell Jordan, one of the people performing that night. At this point though, they didn't have Drew in the group, the fourth member was John Lipman, a Cincinnati resident who decided to leave the group. This left the group just signed, and one member short!

They talked it over and Nick went and got his brother Drew from New York, where he was an EMT, and the problem was solved! Paris still liked their sound and stuck with them. He helped the group get together a demo tape and even contributed his help to some of the songs. Paris took the tape and got the best record label offer he could. Until they got it though, Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, Nick and Drew Lachey were night club security gaurds, worked in a deli, and delivered Chinese food. (I am sure that Chinese food place was sorry to see them go, because people probably ordered food just to see them!)
