Well, I didn't want to delete it...
So I stuck it here.
Truth be told, I think I'm so God-damned smart and witty that I just couldn't throw out any examples of my genius. That's another
example of what it's like to be the sort of mega talented, inspired soul that I am.
My top 11 for 1996
11. Meeting Kathy Valentine
10. Getting my head shaved
9. Tom's wedding, especially the party at Pleasure Island and the meal in the hotel with Kate, Geoff, Rob, Megin, Larissa, Nate, and Jay.
8. David Spiro and I chasing Susanna Hoffs and Tim Anctil around the Bowery. Susanna was laughing pretty hard, but I bet Tim thought we were on crack.
7. Meeting Jane Wiedlin at the Mercury Lounge. This would be higher but I think that she was ready to fall asleep.
6. Meeting Kathy Valentine and Dominique Davalos
5. Delphines at the Bitter End. Kathy and Dominique talked to David Spiro and myself for a really long time, making us feel cool. Thanks to them!
4. Auditioning for the Chicago Symphony. I mean, yeah, Beethoven 4th came out sounding like speed racer with sand in it's gas tank, and I lost, but playing on that stage was hip.
3. Delphines at Brownies. Very cool because the East Village is where Clem Burke belongs.
2. Playing Firebird with Bob Spano, live on the BBC and Massachusetts Public Radio. Extra cool because Lisa McCullough and Hilary Lynch were sitting in front of me.

The gift list
Here's what I got for Christmas...
A camera
A new microwave (because smoke started coming out the back of the old one...)
Three shirts
A pair of hiking socks
This is what I wanted but didn't get so I had to buy for myself...
A union suit
This is what I didn't get.
A cool guitar
New pants (but who was to know?)
I wanna go back!
