This site is dedicated to the celebration of great Canadian bands. Initially most of the links found here will be for "New Rock" or "Alternative"...(or whatever you choose to call this particular music genre.) For years now, a particular debate has been raged in the Canadian Broadcasting industry over the Canadian Content (CanCon) in Radio station airplay. Some say that it allows weak talented bands to water down the quality of the Canadian airwaves, and that it is unfair to Canadian stations near the border who have to compete with American stations with no such regulations. Others vehemently argue that it protects the Canadian industry, mostly from the great American commercial juggernaut. Both arguements are true and just, and the key is to find the right balance of CanCon necessary. Imagine the Canadian industry or band as a small sappling in a forest of huge Oak trees. If not given special attention it will be starved and die. But if it is given a chance it will grow and someday be as big or bigger than the Oaks that once threatened it. Whatever the case, today the Canadian Music scene is alive and thriving. Canada currently boasts some of the greatest bands in new music. Some of which you will find here on this site. Enjoy!

Instead of putting up all the links to these bands I could find I've tried to put up the link that gives the most links to each particular band. This site will always be changing.
