The process of information organization is very important in the overall usability of the knowledge. Much like META tags, knowledge needs to be properly tagged and categorized for efficient searching. This also enables the creation of web like cross referencing, linking knowledge objects together. One KO might pertain to another KO, but a knowledge management system (KMS) may not know the inferences if the information is not properly tagged and categorized. In the long run, best practices in organization will lead to better sustainability of the system.
