The whole was buzzing with activity from about 5.45 in the morning. Well, at least the girls were running around getting ready. The guys were still fast asleep. Its more fun this way. Later when the guys wake up and hurry us, we can say that we were ready a long time ago and were waiting for them. :) Evil, aint we.
Its better this way anyhow. Had to catch the 7am ferry over to Vancouver. The guys finally woke up and breakfast was ready for them. Everyone rushed round the house getting the bags and stuff into the car. And off we went.
Winds were strong that morning. Thank the Lord the rain only started after we were almost at Vancouver. Heard that the next ferry was cancelled. The Lord was looking out for us that day. The waters were so choppy. Jing and I tried to go up on deck to take pictures. Had to cling onto the railings for the ferry was rocking from side to side. Its a good thing none of us was prone to sea-sickness.
Spent the rest of the day driving around Vancouver sightsee-ing. Of course we had to look for a motel first. By the time we got settled down, our stomachs were really making a din. Hey, breakfast was a rush job. We were really hungry! Well, problem was solved when we went to a tim-sum buffet. It was good. Satisfied.
Sightsee-ing was fun. Took lots of pictures. Soon it got dark. You have to understand that the sun sets at around 4pm. As it got dark, we headed back to the city. Well, some Singaporeans might call it Vancouver's CBD area. It was still raining. But Jing and I noticed the rain seem to be quite weird. Slushy. ITS SNOWING!!!!! 2 screaming, excited girls in the backseat is not good for the driver. :)
The temperature on the ground is too high so the snow melts before it reaches the ground. Like slush. Half rain, Half ice. Imagine a melting ice kachang. Something like that. So fun! We wanted to go visit Bernard in school but when we called him, he said better not. The roads up to his school wasnt very safe now. It just snowed. He was on his way home anyhow, as soon as he finished wiping snow off his car. :)
Finally stopped at this HUGE shopping centre for Jing and I to run around. Hahaha...something about females and shopping centres. Well, Jing and I didnt shop the whole time we were there. Went out to take pictures with the snow fall. Played a bit in the snow. It was fun to just stand there while snow fell on you. Each snow flake was so tiny. But you can clearly see its shape if it fell on your hand. Too bad it melts so fast.
Time flies when you're having fun...it was time to go. We were waiting for this Hong Kong restaurant to open for supper. Havent had dinner yet so we were all starving. Ate so much, I couldnt believe I was that hungry. Lets say Jing and I had 8 bowls of porridge EACH. Not altogether. But each of us ate 8 bowls.
What a day.
