The Malaysian National Philosophy of Education
"Education in Malaysia is an on-going effort towards further developing
the potential of individuals in a holistic and intergrated manner, so as to produce individuals
who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced
and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian
citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards
and who are responsible and capable of achieving high levels of personal well-being as well as
being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, the
society and the nation at large."
Fasting in the month of Ramadhan
Allah's Apostle said, "Fasting is a shield (or a screen or a shelter). So, the person
observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave
foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell
him twice, 'I am fasting." The Prophet added, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the
smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than
the smell of musk. (Allah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and
desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and
the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times."

In Malaysia, teachers are commonly addressed as "Cikgu" even after
they have left the job. It is some sort of a title and is being recognised
by all. So, about two years ago I started to use "Cg." and began
explaining its rationality to my staff in trying to popularise its usage.
"Cg." is the short form for "Cikgu" which means "teacher". One who
loves teaching should be proud of his or her job as a teacher.
Therefore, one should be proud of using "Cg." before one's name
as doctors use "Dr." before their names. I am proud to be a teacher
and I began using "Cg." two years ago. And, insya'Allah (God Willing),
I'll make sure that my "Cg." stays. We are not doctors.
Neither are we engineers. But, we are teachers ....proud teachers.
We like to be addressed as "Cikgu" or in short,"Cg.". I am the one
who started it. I am proud of it and it is now on the
internet for good.

merebut ganjaran yang berlipat ganda banyaknya dalam bulan Ramadhan
Al-Mubarak ini. Segala amalan kita diharap akan diterima Allah jua.
