Dear Richard,

When you receive this letter, you have just given an incredible concert. Not only your American fans have been looking forward to this concert for months; we, your European fans, have been 'fevering' just as much. This time we would be present in a special way. In our thoughts we attended the whole concert, and right now you are holding our names in your hands.

The last time you were in Europe was in the year 1992. Six years without you is too long a period. We would like you to know that we miss you - a lot!

We realise that our support for you could not be inferred from the European charts. But over here there has been no promotion at all. Many people have forgotten all about you, the younger ones don't even know who you are. Yet, charts and sales don't say everything! That your name isn't in our charts, doesn't mean that you are not beloved in Europe!

Now that you have started touring the United States again, we are having tough times. By hearing the enthusiastic stories of our American friends and seeing their photos on the Internet, we are indeed well informed on the 'how', 'what' and 'where' of your concerts, but it also makes us aware of what we are missing. We cling to our cds and video tapes, because that is all we have of you - no radio or television performance, no magazine articles, hardly any air-play... and no concerts at all.

With this petition we would like to remind you of a small, but persistent group of fans, far away from your home country, who are longing to see you in concert. Some of us have never seen you live and are willing to travel miles to finally celebrate a Richard Marx concert.

No matter how long we will have to wait, we will never give up on you. We keep hoping that our dream of a Richard Marx concert in Europe will come true. Someday...
