What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the Wireless LAN driver(*1) for
"Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter" for Windows 98
and Windows 98SE.

This package supports Wireless LAN installed models of the following
systems:
  - ThinkPad R40 (Machine Types 2722, 2723, 2724) (*1)
  - ThinkPad T40, T41,T42
  - ThinkPad X31

(Note)
 *1: Machine Types 2681, 2682, 2683 are not supported.


To install the Wireless LAN driver, refer to the "Installation
instructions" section.

 - (New) Support for ThinkPad R40 (Machine Types 2722, 2723, 2724),
         T40, T41, T42, and X31.
 - NOTE: Windows 98 may intermittently hang after suspending and 
         resuming the system with this version of the driver 
         installed.  This will be resolved in the next wireless 
         driver package.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
NOTES:
 - ThinkPad Software Installer does not support this package.
 - Both of the following components need to be installed:
    - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
    - Intel(R) PROSet II 
 - In some cases, you may need to re-enter SSID and/or WEP keys after
   updating the driver.


INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 98/98SE.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, click Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click 
    System.
 4. Click Device Manager, click Network Adapters, then 
    double-click Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter.
 5. Click Driver and click Update Driver.
 6. Follow the instructions, specify the location for the driver files 
    where you extracted the package in step 2.
    Default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLLANINT\PROW2100\WINSE-ME
    If you have extracted the files to a different location,
    specify this location instead.
 7. Click Finish when prompted and restart the system.
 8. Restart Windows 98/98SE.
 9. Click Start and then click Run.
10. In the run dialog window, 
    type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLLANINT\APPS\PROSET\WN98SEME\PROSET.EXE
    to install the PROSet II. Click the Next button to start the 
    installation process. If you have extracted the files to a 
    different location, specify this location instead.
11. Follow the instructions.
12. Click Yes when prompted to restart the system.

UNINSTALL:
 1. Start Windows 98/98SE.
 2. Click Start, select Settings and click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click System, and click Device Manager.
 4. Expand Network adapters.
 5. Right-click Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter.
 6. Choose Uninstall.
 7. Click OK in the Confirm Device Removal window.

Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
1. Click Start, select Settings and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click System, and click Device Manager.
3. Expand Network adapters.
4. Right-click Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter.
5. Click the Driver tab. The version and date of the driver are
   displayed.
