Release Notes For Solaris 2.6 (Intel Platform Edition) Driver Update 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Device Driver Support Driver Update 2 includes the following device drivers. If the driver name has an "*", it indicates that there is a new or updated device configuration page associated with that driver. The new or updated device configuration pages are available in "Solaris 2.6 (Intel Platform Edition) Device Reference Manual", which is included as part of Driver Update 2. Device configuration pages are only provided to indicate special hardware configuration information; therefore, there is not always an associated device configuration page with each driver. Driver Version Update information ------ ------- ------------------ SCSI Host Bus Adapters Fixed a bug in SCSI reset processing where this adp* 2.1 driver would sometimes experience memory corruption or a panic; added the AHA-3940U and AHA-3940UW host bus adapters to the Device Reference Page cpqncr 3.0 Fixed bugs and added support for the Compaq Dual Channel Wide Ultra SCSI-3 Controller; If your system is running an older version of Compaq's ROMPaq firmware, you may also need to upgrade your system with the latest version of ROMPaq firmware after installing this driver to prevent your system from hanging pcscsi 2.1 Fixed bugs, among them one that occurred when the target ID was greater than seven and another that occurred because the code did not check that DMA memory was set up correctly before packets were reused; also fixed a framework usage correctness bug that did not affect functionality SCSI Disk Arrays/RAID Controller mega* 1.04 New American Megatrends MegaRAID 428 SCSI RAID controller to support the Solaris 2.6 operating environment; eliminated problems that occurred under heavy stress conditions SCSI Tape Driver st.conf Added help text that explains how to submit new entries and where to find documentation about creating entries; uncommented entries so you can use these older tape drives without having to modify st.conf: Archive Python 28388, Conner CTD 8004H, Compaq DLT models 4000 and 7000, Sony SDT 7000 and SDT 9000, Wangtek 51000 and 52000, Tecmar TS-420, all shipping models of Sun DLT drives up to DLT 700, Quantum DLT 4000 and 7000, Hewlett-Packard SureStore T4 and 1557A DDS3 autoloader (requires third-party control software), WangDAT models 3400DX and 3800, Exabyte EXB-8900 Mammoth and 8705 Eliant, Tandberg TDC 4120 Ethernet Network Adapters cnft 4.6 Fixed bugs dnet* 2.1 Fixed bugs (in the media detection code) and added support for both Digital NIC 21142/21143 chips and media for T4 media Serial Ports Driver asy 2.1 Fixed bugs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ New Video Display Device Support Resolution and Color Depth (A=800x600; B=1024x768; C=1152x900; D=1280x1024; E=1600x1200) A B C D E Vendor/Model Bus Chipset (Note 1) 824 8 24 824 8 24 824 ATI 3D RAGE PRO (Note 2) -- ATI 3D RAGE PRO XX X X XX X X XX ATI XPERT@Work PCI/AGP ATI 3D RAGE PRO XX X X XX X X XX ATI XPERT@Play PCI/AGP ATI 3D RAGE PRO XX X X XX X X XX Diamond Stealth 3D S3 ViRGE/DX 2000/Pro PCI (86C375)/TD> XX X X X X Matrox Mystique 220 PCI MGA1064SG(-G or -H) XX X X XX X X X S3 ViRGE/DX (Note 2) PCI ViRGE/DX (86C375)/TD> XX X X X X S3 ViRGE/GX (Note 2) PCI ViRGE/GX (86C385) XX X X X X ------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Note 1) The information in the chipset column does not guarantee that video boards made by another manufacturer using the same chipset will work. Only the specific models listed by Vendor, Model, Bus, and Chipset have been tested. (Note 2) SunSoft does not guarantee that every video device with this chipset will work, but it is possible that your model can be used successfully. "--" in the bus column indicates a video controller model that is used on video display adapters and motherboards. For a complete list of video devices supported in this release, see the tables in Chapter 2 of "Video Driver Update 2 Guide for Solaris 2.6 (Intel Platform Edition)". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ New Updated Video Support * Support for ATI 3D RAGE II+ chips has been updated.
