DESCRIPTION:   This release provides updated system ROM images
for the latest maintenance releases of HP ProLiant ML310 G3 Servers.






New Features -


        HP ProLiant ML310 G3 system ROM W02 (11/04/2005)
        =================================================

		1) Added RBSU menu option, Default Fan Speed, under Advanced
		   Options that allows setting the default fan speeds to either
		   High or Normal speeds.  Setting the Default Fan Speed to
		   High is useful for customers who wish to run a system as cool
		   as possible while accepting higher acoustic levels. A setting
		   of Normal allows the system intelligently vary the fan speed
		   based on measurements from temperature sensors in the system.

		1) Resolved issue with fan failures failing to illuminate fan
		   failure LEDs correctly and shutting down the system.
		
		2) Resolved issue with embedded ATI ES1000 video controller
		   causing distorted graphics to be displayed.
		
		3) Resolved issue where QLogic and Emulex Fibre Channel PCI-Express 
		   cards that may intermittently hang during POST.

     		4) Resolved issue where setting the Virtual Serial Port
     		   selection in RBSU to COM1 causes the system to lock up.
		   
	        5) Resolved issue where foreign language versions of Optional
	           Serial Port selection in RBSU do not appear.
		   
		6) Resolved issue where ROM-Based Virtual Install Disk driver for
		   the LSI U320 SCSI Controller was missing.  This driver allows
		   installations of Microsoft Windows 2003 32-bit and Windows 2003 
		   64-bit x86 without requiring the customer to provide a driver
		   via a floppy disk or other means. 
		   
		   This System ROM includes the following versions of the SCSI
		   Controller drivers:

		   symmpi.sys - 1.10.1.0 05/26/2004 (LSI Logic Ultra320 SCSI)
		   for 32-bit x86 editions of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

HOW TO USE:


1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP31664.EXE.


3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP31664.exe [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.


4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP31664.EXE if you wish.
