Previously, the HOST ROM would detect the presence of the serial port/Virtual Serial Port at POST, and if it was not connected, then the BIOS Serial Console Redirection feature would not transmit data for the rest of the boot cycle. The most recent HOST ROMs and iLO 2 firmware now communicate the presence of a Remote Serial Console connection, and will start transmitting data if a connection is made during the system boot process. - Updates downloadable to use new Smart Component delivery method.
